I just installed my HID kit made by Wiz and they look like the same kit. They are probably made in the same factory. I like them except for the fact that they take a couple seconds to fully charge. Which in my opinion really sucks when you go from your high beams to low beams and can see very little for a couple seconds. Other than that, they are bright and some modification. Installation isn't very fun with that kit. You will find out when you go to install them. I had to cut some plastic away behind the housing because the wires were pinched against the plastic and cut holes in the factory round rubber housing cover.

The other issue I had was a bad ballast and I had to buy a new one.

If you want a cheap kit like that, at least don't buy them from that ebayer. New seller and probably has problems.

has any one ever tore hid's out of a lexus or some thing and moded the lights in to an alero headlight? alero projectors ;) ;)

mold the back of the head light put two projectors in fiberglass and clear cover over the top like the new vette

Buy from a good seller. I put 50W MaxCars in mine. Although in hindsight 50W is overkill.

That is the best way to put HID's in an Alero, or any car that never came with them for that matter. Instead of getting a cheap kit that won't last and has problems, it's better to get the whole setup from a car that came with them from the factory. Instead of throwing bulbs that bright into the regular reflector housing and causing all kinds of glare for everyone driving towards you, you'd be better off taking HID projectors from a car that has them and attaching them into the Alero's reflector. You end up with the brightest, longest lasting HID's you can get, plus it won't throw any glare to oncoming traffic. As for color, the brightest bulbs are 4300K which are pure white, it's the cut off plate inside the projector that makes the blue flicker you see. Anything higher than 4300K gets more blue, and higher still gets purple, and the higher you go, the lower the light output is. Yes they may be a bit brighter than the stock bulbs, but still not as bright as 4300K.

if your willing to spend a shit load of money, and the time it will take to fit them in the alero headlight assembly.....go for it. But ive never had anyone flash their headlights at me...... you dont need to get projectors, but if you wanna go for it. I also think projectors look retarded in our headlight assemblies. Cause only one spot on each headlight has a projector.....the rest are just regular, it looks stupid. If you put projectors in, buy a set for the high beams too, it will probably look 100 times better.

Yes the best way would be to get OEM HID's from a car that came with them, and not just throw them into the Alero headlights, but get HID projectors so they don't throw glare at oncoming traffic. OEM HID systems are much better quality and brighter than almost every aftermarket kit. It'll take some custom work rather than simply plugging everything in and driving away, but it'll be done the right way.

Properly done with projectors, the HID beam pattern should look like this, without any kind of glare above the cutoff:

Yeah, my 4300°k lights definitely don't have glare like that. And they're in the stock housing.

Oh, and i don't think the HIDs in my dad's Q45 look all that different from those in that retrofit picture up there.

Did you have to aim them down a little? Do you have a shot of the beam pattern by any chance? I'd like to see what it looks in an Alero reflector.

Which picture does the Q45 beam pattern look like?

the Q lights look like the retrofitted non-projector pic you posted. Since they aren't projectors in those years (97-01)

I'll have to dig around to see if i have some pics of the ones that are in my Alero.
