Ok, so I was under the impression that when you install a new guage cluster, the PCM overrode the mileage. However, I just installed a guage cluster off a 2004 alero with 58k on it, and now my car says it has 58k! Sweet right? Well, not so much so. I don't want to have fake miliage.

How do I go about getting the correct miliage back?

LOL NICE

It's supposed to be stored separately from the cluster... very odd that this happened.

Mine did the same thing when I changed it...

My book doesn't say anything about so my best guess would be take it to the dealership.

what happened to your other gauge cluster? maybe you can take it to a dealer and have it changed around if you still have the other cluster.

Yeah that's odd, I thought it was stored in the BCM

I happened to my old gauge cluster.

First, I installed the blue micro LED kit for blue glow needles. Second, I installed the overlay decals that first came out for our gauges before white face gauges even existed for our cars. Then, when white face gauges came out, I installed those over the existing decals with double stick tape.

So, under my white face gauges are nasty glued double sided tape mess.

Anyway, I just took apart my original cluster, and I was able to peel everything off and goo gone got the sticky residue off. I'm gonna use the lens half from the new cluster and the actual guage base half from the others.

The reason I wanted to put it back to stock is that my reverse indiglow gauges keep on going off half the time. I'm in the process of un-doing a lot of the ghetto installs I did as a kid.... I am having a lot of issues with the car and I want to eliminate as many of them as I can.

You can take all the iners from your old cluster and put them in the new one.

Just finished the job.

I used my original guages bottom half and the upper half from the ones I got on ebay. Goo gone got all the double sided tape goo off. It actually looks nice again.

Now I've got the lower half of a set of 04 gauges with 58k, and the top half with a red painted aluminum bezel to try to get rid of lol.

I didn't think any odometer information was stored in the BCM. I guess that proves it.
