wheel cleaner?

does anyone know of a strong ass wheel cleaner? I tryed a billion things but to no avail. The front wheels are pretty bad with baked on brake dust from over the winter.

depends on what kind of wheels u got...if u still got stockers on, i used to use "never dull", it cleans pretty much any surface...10$ at canadian tire...

are you trying to clean tires or rims... i assume rims... if it is your rims, it's all according to what rims you have...???.... for example, i have american eagle alloy rims.... i use -----> Rim Cleaner (http://www.autogeek.net/nevwadpol.html)

Armor All Wheel Cleaner, works well on my stock rims. And I touch the wheels with wheel spray to keep that wet look longer.

The best wheel cleaner I've ever used is Dupont Teflon, it just came out.

It's safe for all finishes and even cleans your tires too!

I had to very lightly scub the back/inside part of my fronts once to get all the poop from these carbon metallic pads off, but I was amazed at how well it worked. spray it on, hose it off then wipe the wheels with a soft clean towel.

If your brake dust is in fact baked on, which it very well could be, you wont get it off. Like I've mentioned before, I work at a car wash and we detail many cars...our tire and wheels cleaners are 10 times the strength of the cleaners mentioned above, and even we can't get off baked on brake dust.

/\ /\ it will still come off. The wheels just will need polished. As far as the cleaners, I agree with voodosoup, dupont teflon seems to work really good. The other really good one that I've found, though, is Simple Green all purpose cleaner. Spray it on full strength, let it sit for a minute or two, and with some minor elbow grease some of the nastiest stuff will come right off. I use it on my engine, too. And it's environmentally friendly!

^^I've got a huge bottle of simple green that I use for my bike and my engine. Never thought to try it out on the wheels......
