I think it looks good with it to be honest..... You could always get the AAS bumper.. That will take care of it. haha

i've seen a few people take the emblem out and paint the inside of the indent black and then put the emblem back in....it looks really good with painted bezels

I did it and had it filled in. It looks sharp. It took a bit to get used to it not there, but I soon got over that.

Best thing is remove the large black lisense plate and roll without it. But keep in mind some state laws require for you to have one in the front. Ive gotten so many tickets for it. As far as the olds symbol, keep it it looks good, though I plan to get the old OLDSMOBILE rocket symbol and put it on my door...

i don't get why people think it looks good to remove the emblems. what, too embrassed to drive an oldsmobile?

no, some people just like the shaved look, i like it aswell because when your at a car show nobody can tell what it is, and you get 100 people saying "nice, is that an eclipse?"

They aren't paying me to advertise, so no emblems for me. It just looks cleaner with no emblems.

Really its all about what you want, and if you want to take the time, and money to fill it in.

Or you could get hit in a parking lot like I did and then getting it done for free :)

My car is completely void of any emblems. The silver of the emblem didn't go with my color or maybe it was because it bulged out. I guess overall it just looked cleaner.

^^^hah the AAS kit

Nope, the car was totaled on 10/29. Rear ended hard core in Ohio. Currently looking for a Mazda 6, or a TSX I can afford.

yeah it was totally my fault that I was rear ended and my car was totaled. :rolleyes2: You're not funny

[ion] C2
11-05-2007, 04:33 PM
not totally your fault, but if you weren't following so closely to the vehicle in front of you it would not have happened. 1 car length per 10MPH gives you enough time to do whatever is necessary to avoid nearly any collision

just sayin :)

The car in front of me was cut off. I hit my brakes when I saw them hit theres. I didn't hit anyone, she hit me. It ws rush hour traffic, bumper to bumper no matter what. Plus who do you ever see on 96,696,75,275 leavin 8 car lengths between then flying at 80mph? none of this is my fault, so don't say it was "not totally" Did I recieve a ticket? no, so there.

[ion] C2
11-05-2007, 05:18 PM
just because you didn't get a ticket doesn't mean the crash was unavoidable. if you left enough room you wouldn't have had to SLAM the brakes, thus allowing the escort with shitty brakes behind you enough time to stop. why do you think so many accidents happen on the highways when people are flying up on peoples asses. you gotta be ready for anything, as my dad tells me. same one who came up with the 10mph per car length to have TOTAL control over any situation. no one does half that, including me, but it's a good guideline. my dad's been in 2 accidents in his entire life, and they were unavoidable. (black ice for one when he was 15, second he was stationary as another crashed into him) CDL for over 30 years. so i'm pretty sure he knows how to drive

i was just pointing out that everyone plays some percentage of fault in an accident

what is the easiest way to do this???

alero440
11-05-2007, 05:43 PM
I was cruising at like 55 mph (under the speed limit) when all of a sudden the car in front of me (i don't tailgate thank you) was at like a complete stop. no matter what I had to slam my brake on. There was an accident on the shoulder next to me and cars in the other lane so I couldn't get out of the way and continue on. None of the 3 accidents I have been in have been my fault. I was rear ended by a motorcycle at a red light, t-boned by a drunk driver, and now this. I am a very safe driver. It was unavoidable, even the cop stated I did what I had to do.

More then likely its on with rivets. You have to drill them out, but becareful not to scratch the bumper like I did mine, lol :) It'll leave 4 holes, but they really aren't that noticable.

Sorry to thread jack. ;)

yeah they are all on there with double sided tape. We were talking about drilling out the rivets that hold the front license plate on. It looks stupid, especially if the state you live in doesn't require it.

Aleros look nice without that huge plate on the front. I just first removed my plate then there were some "rivits" i guess and i just pulled them out, and out came the black plate. There will be 4 holes, i just coverd them with white electricity tape until my bodykit came in. But i got a bunch of tickets for it. So stupid

It looks stupid, especially if the state you live in doesn't require it.To be honest I didn't have any rivots on my front license plate, matter of fact that's the first time I have ever heard of that. Here they just screw it to the bumper, and some people just drill holes in it and put anchors for the screws. Sorry for interupting but thanks for clearing that up.

who was saying that on the 2000 Alero there was only glue behind the logos? I wanted to take the Alero and Oldsmobile lettering off of the back(not the Olds Logo, just the letters)
how would i go about that?

easy, just heat it up a bit, pull them off then use some kind of citrus cleaner, goo-gone. to remove the glue...looks 100 times better with out them. thats what i did to the back side of my car...next is the front plate that people have talked about on page 2...

do our cars really look better without them?? i have been wanting to do those also but i am waiting for some warmer air to come thru CT. are they held on the same as the emblems?? with the black sticky glue/tape?? and is the car under the molding already painted or will i have to have the area under the molding painted the same color as the car?
