Satruday night I left home for school 80 miles away. I got there, parked and the car hasn't moved since. (For some reason my horn wouldn't honk when I locked the door.)So I went to go to class today and my car wouldn't start. I looked at the volts and had 7.8. Checked to see if anything was on and wasn't. Pressed the door lock button and they barely moved to lock. I called a friend and tried his charger that works through the ciggarette lighter. But the charger says my battery is fully charged. Now nothing in my car will work. But when I turn the key on then off, my temp and tach start going back and forth. The only thing I can think of is the battery is bad. I don't think its the alternator because it should have died on the trip up.
Now I'm stuck in the school parking lot, anyone have any other ideas?

I thought so, but it says autozone on it.It's been there for the almost 2 years I've owned the car though. Thats what I'm hoping for. It's wierd that it would happen so suddenly though

new battery will solve ur problem! autozone battery sucks. walmart everstart batterys are pretty good.
i got 3 autozone batteries in my garage from customer cars which are dead. hahhaha. They're only less than a yr old. I just need to throw them away (aka recycle) cuz they don't want them.

wal-mart we call those neverstarts. Go to like a interstate batteries store or like a place that specializes in just batteries and ask for a blem they are like 25 bucks and they just have a "blemish" on the case from transporting so they wont sell them on the shelves at full price. i got an optima from the interstate store about three months ago. They just give you whatever they have randomly but they are brand new batteries.

Wal-Mart, AutoZone, Die Hard and a slew of other brands of batteries come out of the same johnson controls factory. I'm sure there's some differences in their construction, but they can't be all that different.

Interstate ALL the way. its the ONLY brand we put in customers cars.. and if your trying to be economical they have 65 month ones instead of the 75 and up models. If you want i can look up a price for you tomorrow at work so you know what you will be dealing with?

everstart is like rated in the top 5 battery brand for 2007 consumer report test. but ya.. theres only 3-4 major companies that makes batteries and just relabels everything.

So I finally got it started after getting it charged for a few hours. And now something is knocking bad. I told my dad and he told me to bring it home. When I got there, there just happened to be an 02 Accord sitting in the driveway. Needless to say, the Alero will be gone soon. Check the bazzar if you need a set of brand new front KYB struts or anything else I might find lying around.

Well I'd love to have a new one, but my dad got this one for like 4 grand. And its in perfect shape, with no wear on the leather or anything. 2.3 vtec with 5speed. Should be real good on gas!

I'm not sure, I didn't know there were different struts from KYB for the alero. They're silver at the bottom if that makes a difference
