After hanging out at the Midwest Aleromod meet at Oldsman's house on 4/17/04, I really didn't start my car up until Sunday 4/18/04, well all of a sudden my alero was running really hard...rpm's up between 2000-3000 just sitting then when I went to move the car the Service Engine Soon light kept blinking at me. :(

Couldn't even accelerate worth of poop to even pass cars. Took the car to my friend who had a scan tool for a GM and he thought it was problems with the injectors because at the time #5 and 6 were going crazy. So I took it to the dealership and they said it wasn't covered under warranty.

I talked to Silent and Oldsman about it and they think its a covered item on warranty. I have a 5yr. 60,000 mile warranty and there's only 46,200 miles on my 2002. :( I paid $360.00 for the repairs so it was expensive, I thought! Any suggestions or anyone have the same problems! Let me know.

Lots of input!!!

when you get them professionally cleaned what do they do, and what will this help solve? My car idles a lil (and i mean a lil) rough and I was wondering if this may be the reason. and alerogirl what was the problem, what was on the bill that you payed for?

so was it actually the injectors??

well dpending on the dealer, they might cover the injectors. I know that i have had injectors cleaned under warranty before.

I would talk to the dealer. maybe fuel filter might need to be changed? if so, find out where it is and Don't let them do it unless it's in the tank. but if i remember it isn't bad to get to.

they take a can of injector cleaner in an aerosol can.. hook it up to the fuel injector fuel rail adaptor. Pull out the fuel pump fuse so no gas is used. and start the car running off the injector cleaner and when its done the aersol can will coliapse and the engine will shut off. then they have an addictive they put in your fuel tank

Some professional injector cleaning might include throttle body and intake cleaning too.

I had a misfire problem last year.

It wasn't all teh time though, it was only after i would use my NOS, my #5 injector would get "tired" and cut out fora while.

I never bothered to fix it though, cuz once i quit usin the dry nitrous it hasn't had a problem since.

But ur injectors shood be covered under warrenty.

Also, where do i get somea this professional cleaning poop, I'd like to give it a run through the car

the 3m standard fuel injector adaptor kit is like 400 bucks and the deluxe one (has every type of fittings for every car) is like 900.

The injector cleaner/intake-throttle cleaner/fuel additive solution package is only 25 bucks though.

you can get them cleaned at the dealer for like 120 bucks, or jiffy lube for 50 bucks or whereever your local garage is. I was just listing the prices for ski about getting a kit for you to do it at home with the professional shop people uses.

Well when this happended to me it was just a coil pack but do you know if its the injectors or what?

well as for mine, i checked to make sure it was the injector.

I checked the plug, wire and coil, all good.

So i put a brand new un used plug in the hole that was misfiring, but left the wire off of it. then i ran the car fora few minutes, shut the car off and pulled the plug.

Naturally if the injector was working there would be some fuel residue on the plug, or even teh odor of gas, and on mine there was nothing. the plug had nothing on it and did not smell like gas at all, Which with the plug not firing, it should have had gas on it.

thats how i narrowed it down to my injector
