I NEED HELP

Ok guys I have a badass system i want to hook up in my alero. I have a problem with the headunit tho.......crutchfield says the panasonic ghost face deck wont fit in the alero. Why is this? Also I need to know what amp is the stock alternator. Thx

the only way the deck wouldnt fit is if it was too long...

I am curious on the AMPerage of our stock alternators also. and if an aftermarket alternator is available.

Our alts are prolly like 60 amp... allthou im not sure...
the deck will fit just get some dremel action, and hack that plastic poop behind the deck :thumbsup:
It'll be kewl, as long as its a standard deck, single din, and you have a deck mount kit your in the green :thumbsup:

the stock one?? thats kinda high for a stock alt...
from what i know most stock cars are about 40-60 amps stocks...
things like cop cars have 90 amp alts...
My 80 Ga has a 90 amp... but thats bigger than stock...

surprisingly, our alt are actually 105 stock, and we can get them recoiled all the way to 195, I had mine coiled to 175 to avoid getting a cap for my system. Me and my grandfather coiled my alt in an afternoon in his shop, but we figured that the safest limit is 195 although if u want to chance overheating, you could take it to 215 or 230.

basically alternators contain current through the ammount of coiles within them, our stock alternators were coiled just to be "stock"...recoiling means taking it into a shop and they apply more coils to the coils already within the alternator, if you look at your car's alternator...you see a huge coil of wires, thats what I'm talking about. Basically we just increased the capacity of my alternator, buying a new alt. would be the better decision in the long run becaus a higher capacity alt would last long but not all of us are made out of money. The only cost I incurred was buying the coils, otherwise me and my grandfather did it all ourselves...you gotta check around but most engine shops should be able to do it, or find a certified electrician, they will prolly know how to do it.
