You guys i got some nasty rust on the bottom of my girl, its in the rear bottom corner of both doors and gores for another 6 inches back. How do i take care of this stuff myself. I can afford a body shop to do it and i want it gone! I know others have this issue but i never read the solution.

you can use a grinder but 3m makes a disc that removes anything and it doesnt warp the metal
apply either por 15 or a etch primer or a sealer before you apply a finish coat of glaze if the metal is pitted, if it needs to be cut out or is gone through then the metal needs to be replaced obvisouly lol
but if i see pics i can help out more

You have bigger problems if your girl is rusting.
Poke a hole in it and get it fixed under warranty if you have less than 100,000 miles.

^^^^dont listen to him, fillin a hole with filler will make it come back faster then the rust , if it is all the way through the only way would be to replace the metal, allot of cleaning of the rusted metal so new metal will hold, dude i really need pics so i can help ya more

I'm not at all a pro body man but I have repaired surface rust many times on my cars in the past. It takes a bit of work but can be done. By the way, filler should only be needed for minor dents and not to repair surface rust. Still, filler will cause more rust eventually so even dents should be repaired properly.
Listen to bdyman as he knows what he's saying.

The metal needs to be replaced; the rust is likely much worse than it appears. I know on my 107k alero that when you removed the rusted area there was a 3 x 7" hole.
not fun at all...
