AVG is free but you should have already had a antivirus on your computer.

Format.

AVG is free but you should have already had a antivirus on your computer.

AV's are overrated.

you shouldn't be downloading stuff you don't know. if its not clean, or your TOLD its clean, don't touch it. /rant

try adware,avg,killbox and a registry cleaner sweep. safe mode would probably help.

start->programs->accessories->system tools->system recovery
restore it to the day before you downloaded it.

don't fuck with keygen/crack sites in the first place... have someone else get it for you, or use a PC that you don't care about to access it.

go back in time and install a damn firewall.

firewall does nothing for a keylogger, once you allow access to the download site and you run the exe its donezo.

that's why you don't allow retarded things to get through? that's the purpose of a firewall

If u want the best thing for the computer is to format the hard drive clean. Even a program won't get rid of all of it.

Basically a firewall controls your ports etc... it prevents hacks and backdoor shit, but once u download a virus even thru a link in explorer and u open it - thats when the anti-virus should get its action. Firewalls usually dont disable real viruses as far as I know. They only block suspicious applications if they try to send data to/from your computer.

pimpalero - I'd suggest u to get a Kaspersky Anti-Virus in a trial version.. after and if u get rid of the virus its up to u if u wanna continue using it and pay for it or not.

No one said you didn't, Gr1m ... but there maybe another time and another person who needs help. Besides that, some people do not have system restore active and therefore do not have a restore point to go back to in such cases as this. Your solution is not the only one available for all situations and computer settings.

something ive always done, but only because i have other family members computers to go to for internet: unplug infected compy from network, fire it up, list the .exes in ctrl+alt+del, and google all the unfamiliar ones, then see how they say to get rid of each one, most likely you'll have to manually tear the bastards out in safemode, but it works
