so ive noticed finding pictures of the OSV alero are kinda spaced out and hard to find. I thought it might be a good idea to have 1 thread where all the pictures are.
i know there's more out there, so post em up!
hopefully this will help to keep the osv bodykit group buy going!!!

thats why i made this thread, to help kinda spread the intrest for the OSV kit. I know there is plenty of intrest, but hopefully this will help. maybe we could even put a link to this in the first post of the osv kit group buy thread / and or sticky. even though i sold my alero, i really want to see this kit made. if it is made, i would definatly try to find another alero (5 speed coupe)
i did take alot of your pics oldsman. right click save as when i see any OSV pics i dont have :)

They have to crush them due to concept cars aren't real cars to drive around in. They don't have real VIN numbers so you can't register them if they did sold them. Example: A,E,D, had the red 99 grandam the new body style in 98 from GM to produce the bodykit and goto sema. They had to crush that car a few yrs ago, when the contract for the concept car was over.
I guess w/ enough money you could of bought the OSV cars but whats the use of when u can't register them to drive them.

oh yes you could have plated them.................find a junk alero with a good title and pull the firewall with vin tag and swap firewalls out and the osv is driveable. you can build a fiberglass gto judge around an original firewall and it becomes an original car.......kind wierd.
Cliff8928

The OSV most likely has a real VIN on it, the car was well into production to use a special VIN.
You don't happen to have the VIN of any of those one-offs do you Oldsman?!?

Well the OSV skirts are molded to the body. Pull the firewall would require removing the fenders thus unmolding the fenders. Or cut out the old the VIN tag from donor junk car and rivit in.

WOW! That intrigue looks nice, and I hate intrigues...Now just imagine if that was the original look for the intrigue and the osv alero did come out in time GM would have been still in the game...there catching up with the ecotec and the cobalt and stuff but dam why does GM come up with good ideas and never release them? That pic of the intrigue can even compete against a charger just with its front end...

Most would agree with you on the huge rectangles in front. GM was looking for that '70 442 grill look, but failed miserably. It looks like an Aurora grill for the most part and they just stuck those ugly ass grills in their.

This one still exists. According to Richard Balsley Oldsmobile's Special Division Manager there is one set of 2000 OSVs (the Red ones) they made two sets allegedly that were not driven by the press and not shown at shows and those were saved and hiding somewhere, he would not disclose their location. The Alero 442 was scrapped so was the Saturday night Cruiser (yellow) Intrigue, Polar bear Intrigue, and RKS Alero. The Alero convertible still exists. The 2001 green OSVs which were days out of production according to Richard (I mean literally only days) were also scrapped with 1st set of 2000 Red OSVs 2 of the 3 SC-3 (Barret Jackson called these the Zebra Edition)Oldsmobiles still exist as well.

According to Richard that green is a Cadillac Color used in 2001, it was GM's best production paint at the time. And the wet look is from hours of wet sanding.

The zebra car still exists I have pics, and spoke to the lady whos husband owns it. She said the car was bought at that Barret Jackson, I even asked her if those arent the original rims she said your right she didn't say why, I think they were from florida, I wanted to look under the hood, but her husband wasn't around. Im guessing it had the 3400....
Saturday night Cruiser (yellow) Intrigue I actually have a pic or two of this car, Polar bear Intrigue OMG HUH? I want to see....., and RKS Alero Im guessing this was the Kalifornia edition?

The people you talked to are Ken Petrie and his wife they are from Royal Oak Michigan. The original wheels got scrapped and he bought a set of 17"s to make the car look different than stock. The car does have the 3400. The RKS is the Cali edition. Here's pictures of the polar bear car it had a freezer in the trunk and rear air controls from a chevy suburban and dual buckets in the back with a custom console. GM called it a warm weather show car so they could give children ice cream out of the trunk. This one was for the kids.

yes there was 2 sets of the red OSV and 1 set of the green OSV. The vehicles were made by MSX. The green 2001 was days out of production. it was desgned to replicate the production model that is why the side skirts and wing where bolt on but the bumpers would not have been a full replacement but but like the razzi kit. they were setting it up so they could add the OSV stuff on the assembly line.
out of the 2 red OSV aleros 1 was the show car and one was the test car which AJ foyt, Al Unser, and other drove it at the track. Also according to Richard Balsley the red OSV was putting 230 hp to the ground. i have pics of both red OSV aleros.
the Alero 442 and Intrigue 442 both had according to Richard, 475hp 4.6 Northstar motors that were built by a company in CA. the Alero 442 was FWD 5spd with true dual exhaust and came with factory gauges that included a 10k tach.

Thanks everyone for posting up these pictures! It still makes me upset when I try to understand why Oldsmobile got canned. Today, i had a discussion with my grandpa about it all after I read a Detroit News article about GM turning 100 years old. We both came to the conclusion that it was a bad move on GM's part. Oh well, again, thanks for the pictures everyone!

The tips were custom built for the OSV of course. We would have to wait for the group buy to be completed and then have the tips made to match up with the OSV kit we have made. This would be for good fit and finish.
If you think you have a company that might be willing to make them, show them some pics and get an estimate of what it might cost on a group buy. What material would they use?

not bad. If I have to fab. my own tip for the alero I will, I dont even care if it reaches the tip, unless the green osv's exhaust and tip actually touched then I might have to wait for the group buy on tips.

the "tip" on the OSV is not actually a tip at all, its not even connected to the exhaust, if you flip through some pages and find pics of the osv in the groupbuy thread, you will understand what i mean

Well I was recently at the OCA Nat's in Derborn Heights, MI and got an opportunity to see all the OSV vehicles plus about 800 other GM Concept cars and show vehicles. Here are the pictures of the Alero at one of the warehouses in which the location will remain unknown. The Red OSV Alero, Intrigue and Silhouette are still intact.

That's what GM is afraid of believe it or not. The keys were right there in front of me and there was no way of gettin that ho out of there. They packed em like Sardines. I asked the guy, where do I apply for a job? He just laughed. There are tens of millions of $$ in those warehouses and I only got to view 4 of 8. They asked us to keep locations unknown so I will respect that.

That's the coolant tank for the liquid-to-air Laminova intercooler that was nicely integrated into a fabricated intake manifold.

So these warehouses... were they at the VEC (GM Technical Center)? I pick up and deliver parts often to many GM locations around here and warehouses.. (at the GM Proving Grounds I get a lot of looks at the car.. heheh)
If I figure out where it is I'll:
a. check it out and take some detailed pictures of the supercharger setup
b. devise a complex plan to remove it and clone it

Even if we knew the warehouse location, those cars are sandwiched in there. And I'm sure there's a large amount of surveillance and gates that you must get through. It'd take a good deal of social engineering to get in there, and then a lot to get it out unnoticed. Impossible.
I'd like to take some shots though.

Hmm not at Dock #18, they're all serious about who can enter and exit their shipping facility.
Actually I did deal with one of the gate guards once at the main Tech Center, I had a box of seatbelt stuff that I didn't even know what it was, and I was like "I'm here to drop off this box.. I actually don't even know what it is." and he let me go through and told me where to go and everything, haha. Then I met the GM guy who worked on the Alero's interior, and he checked out my car and we talked for a bit.

Aleromod's new overall goal:
1. Locate warehouse containing Alero OSV.
2. Plan epic retrieval mission.
3. Succeed, copy parts, give it back to GM, maybe.

what kind of engine is it anyway? is it actually a fully functional car? it would be fun to steal it, put the vin #s from a red alero on it with similiar features, and take it to a gm dealership for service. they'd be like "wtf!"

You nub. I have an MP62 sitting here, but it's the one off the Ion/Cobalt. It's the same type of supercharger, same size, but likely more efficient since it looks like the OSV one was the previous generation supercharger. I'm making an intake manifold for it and using it soon... heheh

they will use teh internets hax and get a front shot of the building while the door is open and teh little peeples are running inside to observe the marvelous things that which the building holds.
or.. just get a general location of where the buildings are and use the satellite imagery and look for said warehouses.

I was delivering seat belt stuff from Takata (safety systems) to an engineer there, who worked on the interior panels of the Alero; he explained to me for some reason the designer wanted to use two conflicting materials on the interior handles/panel and they squeak when you squeeze it. They tried their best to keep it from happening but it was inevitable.
Why would that be bullshit? There's a lot of people who worked on various aspects of the Alero who remain employed by GM... lol.
