does anybody know how to bypass that stupid thing that makes us have to put the car into reverse to be able to take out the key? it's a pain in the arse to have to do that...

Yep...just pop off the trim around the shifter. Then you will see three (I think) cables coming out of the base of the shifter assembly. The cable on the passenger side is the one you want. Shift into reverse and you will see which one it is, when it's in reverse disconnect the cable from the shift assembly and you are done. :thumbsup:
