i installed a dual electronics radio not to long ago (bought it from a guy that didn't have anything but the radio and remote) it has the i plug on it i bought the cord that goes between the i plug and mp3 player but when i plug it in and press mode till aux comes on but i can't here the music that i have stored on the mp3 player i have checked all connections everything is plugged in right but still nothing out of mp3 please help
I think things are coming out of the MP3 but have you tested the AUX input on the radio to make sure that it works?
I say this because you probably have already listened to your MP3 player before but the radio is used and may be the reason he sold it.

I have a dual radio also which one do you have xdmr7700 with motorized faceplate? I would make sure that I have it plugged into the right RCA's in the back because it can be confusing if they aren't labelled. Also check to make sure your settings are correct...what I mean by that is that the Mp3 players volume is set at half way and that the radio levels are turned up. I've had mine for like 2 to 3 years and the only problem I have had is with the ribbon cable at the bottom of the face plate. I is crappy from the factory, and over time you will loose the button functions and the ability to use the remote.
Its easy to fix though I just moved in the right spot and layed some packing tape on it and haven't had a problem with it since. If you need a new one let me know I have one that I'm not using and would be willing to get rid of it, but its the 6500 I think...I can post a pic if intrested, and its still new only used 2 months.

Must be the radio..although that would be the first time I have heard of that. Which type do you have? And everything works fine just getting the mp3 player through the aux is the problem? Do you have a pic of it? Is it like this one http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2439188?

Yep same one I got I just have the black one. Next time your out there try running your finger on the ribbon cable at the bottom right side of the face plate and see if it comes in or not if not then Its got to be the iplug itself or the rcas its plugged into. Have you tried a different cable from from the iplug to the Mps player?
Its either:
Mp3 player
wire from mp3 player to iplug
iplug
iplug in wrong rcas ( in a output instead of input)
or that part of the radio is just none functioning, which it is cheaper
to replace the radio then to try and get it fixed.
Sorry about your luck, but you could get another new for 129 bucks at best buy or just get something better. Not to many people like these radios at all. I got mine because I just like the motorized faceplate and iplug feature. I have a another one just not motorized at all if your intrested. It uses the same harness to so no need to change a thing.
