I know someone wanted to see a couple pics of my TNR that I installed in the Alero. I snapped a couple pics the other night.

very nice, is it possible to get a pic in the day to show the fit and finish of the install? Just wondering how it looks cause I'm thinkin about gettin a factory nav unit this summer.

What did this cost you? How hard was it to install? (as easy as a regular radio?) I would love to get this, as it is so cool!! Can you play DVD's on it?

Yeah, I just snapped these with the phone camera when i got home from work. The fit and finish is as expected for being an original part aside from that the bezel covers one little tiny part of the bottom right corner of the screen. The only other minor issues is that the RAP no longer functions for the radio and that the dimming and day/night mode needs to be done manually because the BCM doesn't support those functions.

It cost me probably about $500 or so. It was a little harder to install than a regular radio. The radio and the dash need to be trimmed, it's a snug fit. Also have to attach the GPS antenna, I put mine on top of the vent duct under the dash. You can't play DVDs directly on this unit, It doesn't have a MPEG decoder. You can get an auxiliary video input to connect a DVD player to it though. Probably could get a factory DVD player from a Silhouette and fab it into the dash. It sounds ok, but it's designed to have an amp in the system, so it will be better if you have a monsoon setup, or aftermarket amp.

it was from another gm car. so it just links up with the BCM to give the olds logo. i believe he just bought it and hooked it up and it worked like that.

I did need to get the VIN cleared from the radio, or else it would've displayed "theftlock activated"
