3rd Brakelight

Ok, i've poked around and ive seen several statements on how to do a impala LED brakelight mod, and some conflicted. So, easy as this, does the actual entire unit go in, or do i have to crack it open, take out the strip and put it in the alero's third brake light unit thingy?

take out the strip and re wire it into the old one.....the assembly of the impala light doesnt fit the aleros.....i did it..it looks awsome.

He is correct. Below is a link to the how-to page on installing one of my LED 3rd brake light strips. It will be similar. BTW I cleaned my garage and I have a couple made up if anyone is interested.
