nick, keep in mind our local laws when you get it done. i got nailed for mine, luckily it was in a little backroad town, and the court clerk (looked like my great grandma... and the "courthouse" was a room in their basement) just dropped the charge, cuz i removed it.

absolutely NOTHING on the fronts, i think 5% on the back sides, and the back can just be totally black. (they didn't take aesthetic value into the law at ALL)

i was thinking of going 35% in the front 2, 5% on the rest
and in NY, you have to have ur front 2 show 70% of the light, which is really light, and the back 2 show 35.
The rear window is not specified as long as you have dual side mirrors.
No cop ever checks the back unless you have passengers though, lol i never have more than 1 person in the car at a time so idc how dark the backs are
Thanks for the input!

HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN NEW JERSEY?

Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In New Jersey, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.

Windshield No tint is allowed on the windshield.
Front Side Windows No tint can be applied legally to this window.
Back Side Windows Any darkness can be used.
Rear Window Any darkness can be used.

2.5% ftw in the back side and rear :) thats my plan

Eh,

Actually, I've seen a car with front windshield tinted. Aprox. 35% or more, but you can tell it's tinted, hehehe.

No,

It is illegal to put it in the front window, but of course, if it is really light, it's not to noticeable but from the inside out you can tell it is tinted :P Sorry, can't get any pics cause that was at my old job, the guy had it on his truck which looked nice with tint all over.

Hey.
Just got the tint, wound up going 15% on all 3 backs and 35% on the fronts, and I got the little strip on the top, so heres some pics.
They arent the best quality, but here they are.

May be a dumb question- but are these tints all done by kits like on ebay? or is there a better way?

no, go professional
they do it right the first time all the time
and in about an hour, in my case
2 people were working on the car though
