How exactly do u do a burnout? i tried once, and the entire car made this giant BANGBANGBANGBANG noise that scared the crap out of me. i thought the entire dashboard was going to fall off... id be epic if some1 would explain how to do an alero specific burnout :yahoo:

You probably don't want to hear this, but if your car is making some sort of weird noises when you try to do a burnout, then you've probably already broken something, and shouldn't continue to do that.

It was your front tires slipping. They seem to jump around and make that "bang bang bang" sound. From what iv experienced, most front wheel drive cars do this.

yeah. its a front wheel drive and makes odd noises. mine makes banging noises when i have to pull out into traffic and i always think that i blew out my trans or something. i hate to say it but you're better off avoiding burnouts unless you have money to fix things. cv joints and such don't like the added stress.

Lol... it was the traction breaking loose then you hook. Wheel hop. Bad for transmission.

Turn the traction control Off when you want to do a burn out. Thats where your bangbangbang is coming from... The same thing happens to me when I want to pull hard from a start and I have a manual. With the ETS off, it never happens.

Set e-brake, ease into the gas, don't romp on it.
Better if you could lock the rear wheels on a curb or something.
Gee, IDK about those videos. Kinda like my 14 second 1/4 mile video on YouTube, because we all know, an Alero CAN"T do that :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2:

don't use the e-brake that looks retarded and you get flat spots lol
romp on it from a slow roll (up to 20MPH) or standstill, works with mine at least.. lol i broke traction on the 1-2 shift last time i laid it out (1-2 happens at 46MPH)

Only if you drag the rear tires. If I'm in a water box, or locked on a curb (high enough) mine will stay put. I have drug the rear wheels over the curb before

I was reading up on this one time and someone said you can ease your car up to a brick wall, As soon as you touch it, stop, then just stomp on it. You can burnout for days that way.

^^ I would not try that ... lol You only risk damaging your front bumper cover.

i heard you can just chain your rear wheels to a big old oak tree and then just slam the gas? im going to try it this weekend and will report back. ;)

Heres how I do it at the track. go through the water box and stop before the rear wheels go through it. Back up a bit until the front tires are just about to go into the water. as your rolling back put it in neutral but dont brake. Drop it all the way into first and then floor it as you pull up the ebrake. this works very well for me.

haha...i have an idea...pour alot of bleach on the ground and put your front tires over it. tell friends to gather around and lock e-brake, then floor it.
its the easy and fun way to ruin all of your friends clothes while making an enormous nasty white cloud =]

just got a fog machine and run it under the front of each tire and call it a day...lol
put car in reverse.
drive in reverse till you hit 35+ mph
throw into drive and jack the ebrake
proceed to give it as much gas as possible (dont worry about the rpms)
if that doesnt work get a rear wheel drive car.

anyone stupid enough to do a neutral drop to try and get the tires to spin doesnt deserve to drive a car due to ones complete ignorance in knowing such a dumb move does nothing more than kill the tranny a million times faster!!

What I suggested isnt so much of a neutral drop. I dont floor it until it is in drive. I make sure that its 100% in drive before I do it. My buddy did them the opposite way in his civic and his tranny lasted all of 2 weeks. But if I am wrong then oh well.
[ion] C2
02-24-2008, 08:43 PM
So you are saying you rev it up in neutral, throw it in drive, then floor it?
yea because when the car is moving in reverse and you pop it into drive, thats healthy for the tranny.....
MADMike
02-25-2008, 12:08 AM
no, put it in reverse, giving it no gas at all, let it roll a bit, drop to neutral, still no gas, still rolling a bit, then drive, ebrake up, and then gas it. I care about my tranny, somewhat. as far as I know that isnt too harmful to the tranny, and the tires break loose much easier, though it doesnt matter much now with about 35% tread left on my tires. but if I'm wrong, then I'm wrong and I learned something, I can deal with that unlike some.

WTF?
All you have to do is put it in drive, and put the pedal down then ease up once you break traction and keep the RPMs from bouncing off the limiter, keep them around the same RPM.
Burning out really isn't that complex of a thing, and all the extra transmission reverse-neutral-drive work is really going to eff things up.
