I'm looking into replacing my crappy old rotors that won't even hold when it fogs up for R1 Concepts. Anyway, on the site there are some listed for $80 and some listed for $150 called "Premium Discs" What's the difference between these so called premium discs vs. the ones that are priced half as much?

Get those. It's what I'm getting, known to be the best and most Aleromodders use these.

A lot of us on here have the R1s and pretty much all of us are very happy. A massive improvement over OEM.

^^Indeed, I love mine. I got the semi metallic pads as well. Huge difference over stock. Now my car can brake!

With the stockers, I found it was feeling like the car would not be able to stop. Hard to explain.

I just got mine via UPS today. They look good. Can't wait for a warm day to put them on.

If I had to take a guess I would say the premium rotors are probably thicker. Allowing them to be turned once or twice.

Most rotrs we get now days are one time use.

Hey,
Just ordered my R1 Concepts, how long does shipping take for those who have gotten them for the Alero?

.. depends on where you ordered them from, what carrier they use, or what timeframe you selected... 3 day select via UPS obviously takes 3 days. it didn't say anything when you ordered about shipping cost/method/time?

The R1 concepts order tracking system doesn't work, it only ever said "waiting to ship", even when it showed up at my door. I also like these rotors, had them since last summer and they are still rust free!

you cant turn drilled and slotted rotors, that have be taken to shop that 'sands them down' (only way i could put it).

almost all of your oem rotors can be turned as long as theres some material to take off. usually theres a few thousandths that are there.

just for clarification:thumb:

I don't know about the best, but they are certainly very good for the price. The best stock sized aftermarket rotor for Aleros are probably the StopTechs you can get from PFYC. They're probably a little pricey for someone just looking for decent aftermarket rotors. You can get them in drilled, slotted, or drilled and slotted.

i was looking at those today. the thing that turned me off was the $75 they charge for shipping. i know rotors are heavy but damn.

If it's $75 shipping for all 4 it's understandable. Still pretty steep for a shipping charge though.

no, they arent stop techs. his website doesnt list the brand but i think they are R1's. seems i could have got them cheaper directly from R1 but i would rather support a community vendor. ;)

Yeah its a chance I wasn't in a rush. And I ordered them directly from R1 concept. I guess I'll know for next time.

Anyone got the ceramic pads that you could order with the R1? I got the semi-metallic and I'm really satisfied, they make almost no brake dust and theres no squeaking sound when braking.
