So, if anyones read my thread in the Audio section, they would know my aftermarket deck is making a weird noise.

Today I tried to remove the deck that I installed a longass time ago, and while pulling it out I saw a spark. One of the wires hit the metal bracket. I think. All the wires seem to be connected with no loose ends sticking out of the 2 sided connectors. (I used the connectors that you scrunch up or whatever on each end to keep the wires in place).

Anyway, I rewired the deck with new connectors and reinforced with tape and cleaned it all up. Slid back in like a dream and everything seemed to be fine...

NOT.

If you are too lazy to read the above, just read the below

My dash, climate, and automatic shifter lights are all gone. As well as my tail lights. I recall reading about this problem before but I can't seem to find the answer. I think it was a switch? But I'm not sure. I checked as many fuses as I could and all seemed to work fine. My brake lights and head lights all work, as well as signals and hazard lights. Just the night time "on all the time" tail lights aren't working, and the dash.

Anyone know the fix? I'm guessing its not the dimmer module because the tail lights are out, too.

Happened to me,

But not on my alero, on my silverado. Never found a fix, but only my dash got affected after sparks flew when installing an amp. I had to buy a pair of neon dimmers to see the dash.

its definately one of your fuses, checked driver side, passenger side and engine bay fuse boxes?

I just rechecked all the fuses! It was Fuse 45 (Parking lamps) in the engine bay fuse box!

Replaced it and all is good now! :)
