A few days ago my car started making a low humming/rubbing noise. Kinda sounds like a Ducatti or a motorcycle and the faster I go it gets worse. Also sounds like I'm turning laps in a NASCAR race!! Reading on here someone said if it's a wheel bearing and you turn to the right and the sound gets worse it's your driver's side. Well, I replaced driver's side today and it still is making the noise. Is it possible it's the passenger side bearing? Any help is really appreciated!!
if it makes the noise while your giving it gas, its one of your axles, if it makes noise when your off the gas and decelerating, its one of your wheel hubs.

It makes the noise while moving. Accelerating, decelerating.....When stopped, noise is gone....When moving, coasting, turning left sound is there....When turning to the right, sound gets worse.

Sounds like at least the drivers side bearing is gone.

Thanks....I replaced the driver's side hub today. Could it be passenger side?

Yeah, sure is. Or it could be a rear one?

Pretty sure it's gotta be the front passenger side. I can feel the vibration in floorboard, gas pedal, and a little in steering wheel. Thanks for all your help guys.... Looks like I'm doing the other hub!! :yahoo::banghead:

*UPDATE* It was the right front bearing. :yahoo:Thanks for all your help and info....BTW, Whoever said, "if you turn your car to the right and the sound gets worse, it's the driver's side and vice versa" just a little FYI the sound got worse when I turned to the right and it was the front PASSENGER side bearing. Either way, probably best I replaced both since this is an issue with the alero. Thanks again!!

Not to say that's always the case, but *usually* it works that way. When you turn to the right, the left side bearing gets more load put on it so then it gets noisier and vice versa.
