2004 Alero GL sedan (Canadian, if that matters at all)
In the fuse/relay box in the engine compartment, I know that Relay #22 is for DRL (daytime running lamps).
As for Relay #19, it's marked as "AUTO PRK LMP"... Anyone know whether this is for the automatic night time light control? Would disabling my auto headlights be as simple as pulling this relay out, or would it be for something else? It's the "PRK" part of the label that intrigues me.
Any insight?

Look at your owners manual. #19 on mine is Automatic Light Control. I have an 01 thought, don't know how much has changed over the years.

Okay, just looking at my manual now (guess I should've thought of that before posting!) :p
#19 - Automatic Headlamp System
#20 - Automatic Headlamp System
#22 - Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)
So it seams that the auto-lights have 2 separate relays... Interesting. :coolio:
Then again, this is from the manual. There may only be one physical relay in my specific car (I only remember seeing one).
I just hope disabling auto-headlights is as simple as pulling the relay out without causing an annoying SVS light or some other side-effect.

just unplug the light sensor and connect the two wires.

I'm not comfortable messing around with wires. I wouldn't even know where the specific wires are, anyways.
I will try removing the relay once spring comes around. If any bad side-effects occur as a result I'll simply put it back in.

if you just remove the relay, you WILL get a SVS light.

cant you remove the relay and just bend one of the prongs out, so it doesnt connect fully and plug it back in to avoid the SVS light?

if you pull the relay you will be able to turn off the headlights but will get a light as soon as you do but if you turn the headlights on before you start the car it wont come on
