has anyone ever replace the motor for the power window? mine just went out yesterday and i'm sure it would cost a fortune to have it fixed in a shop. just wondering if anyone can offer any help on how to do it myself, or advice against even thinking about trying it. thanks

hey btw are ya in the chicago land area???
anyway......not hard at all
removing the trim panel:remove the reflector and right below where you grab to close the door tryin to make it simple for ya remove the plastic piece
inside remove the screws
remove the tweeter dome first
if you have a trim panel tool slowly remove the panel with the tool pryin very easy
next: at the back of the door you will see a 10mm bolt that if for the rear window channel remove it, be careful due to the fact that the window channel has a small hook on it push up and twist carefully
next: same thing up front there should be one or two 10mm bolts for the front channel remove it as well
put window down half to acsess the bolts for the window 10 mm also
ya might have to remove the weather strip in side the door frame to remove the glass
when that is done remove the glass
should be 4 or 5 10 mm bolts for the regulator and 1 or 2 more for the window track it`s self
remove wiggle out the old one
reverse the steps
tried to make it simple for ya
if ya need any more help feel free to ask

hey, i just wanted to say thanks for the instructions. it wasn't quite as easy as you made it seem, but pretty darn close. :) and after 2.5 hours of work, and $60 on ebay...i saved $400 by not ordering the part from the dealership and letting them install it.

i only have one problem though, the window seems to go pretty slow going up and struggles a little. is it possible that i installed the glass crooked? is there any way to make sure that it's all installed as it should be?

and no, i'm not from chicago....i'm in indianapolis

the little plastic pieces that hook the guider to the cable broke off.....the way it looks the whole thing has to be replaced right? it doesnt look too hard to do it, i definately dont want to give the dealer an arm and a leg for this.

/\/\/\ yes, you're right the whole regulator would need to be replaced.

dadirty have you done this?? I have the haynes but it looks different and the directions look crappy, just undo the bolts to the glass, pull it out, then undo the motor to door assembly along with the wiring and pull it out?? in the manual it says something about rivots, the rivots I am customed to is to remove they have to be drilled out, and new ones put in, is this necessary with ours?
