New '04 GLS 2.2 & Turbo Kit

I'm thinking about buying this nice black '04 GLS Coupe with only 77,000km on it. It's an Ecotec 2.2l, 5spd which seems kinda weak to me. I found a T3 Turbo kit for the Ecotec for $800 - which is said to add 100hp at 8psi. Any feedback? What kind of output can I expect and what supporting mods will I need (other than FWI). Also I wouldn't be confident installing this myself, how many garage hours can I expect?

Weak? An Alero with an Ecotec and 5-speed has tons of potential. I'd jump on it in a second.

Depending on what kind of turbo is in this kit, 100hp at 8psi is realistic. On a stock Ecotec you can probably safely push about 12psi out of it and put down around 260whp. Without knowing what comes with the kit, I couldn't tell you what else you need, but being $800, unless you're buying it used, it probably doesn't come with all that much (I'm not sure what FWI means...)

I say go for it. I certainly would.

Ya the Ecotec + 5 speed is an amazing combination.
