So I started my fiberglass trunk project. But know I need to know how to figure out the volume in cubic feet of a oddly shaped fiberglass box? I have read that you can fill it with water to measure displacement... but that doesn't sound good at all for a box that it 1/2 mdf... Idk. ;)

An option I use is to go to your local packing store and buy a couple cubic feet of packing peanuts and a 12" cubed (or any size box u know the volume easily) box. Pour the peanuts into the fiberglass enclosure(don't pack them) and then when full pour the peanuts into your box and figure out how much volume you have. Not quite as accurate as water but it's real close and a heck of lot easier on the materials.

Great idea! I think i will give it a try. Im not too woried about being as acurate for my project but I have to do another trunk for a friend before Nopi comes around...
