do the baffles have to be airtight to the door metal? from what i've seen, it doesnt look like it.

its better that they are, you will get better sound quality, what you can do is make some plates that cover the whole 4x6 locations and cut a whole into that to fit you 5 1/4.......or you dont have to.......just a recomendation

The more air tight the baffles are the better....
if you take it to the extreeme and dynamat your doors, n stuff it will sound mucho better than if you just slap the speakers in there like me :P
Basicly you want the front and the back of the speakers to be as seperated as possible

yea blk....lots of dynomat.....that will make it sound good for sure.......

the air tightness will only make a big difference in the lows.

my fronts are 6.5". i dont have the baffle air tight. but still sounds goo dand tight... No dynamat either.

yeah i figured they would sound better if they were airtight....just dont know how i'm going to cut one out b/c i dont have a jigsaw :(
do you guys know where I could get a 4x6 to 5.25 baffle? I know someone on the forum said they could get 6.5" baffles but that won't help B)

I dont know if they make adapters like that for the alero... i know they make similar things for the cavvy/gayfire they may fit :ph34r:
