Ahhh

finally got it up and running and I have whine.

I decided to not fully in stall the deck till everything checked out, good thing.

I used the perferial brand interface module. Seems to work fine and runs the RAP as it should. I think I could be getting the whine from the ground I used that is part of the wiring harness. My first try to eliminate it is going to be to run ground straight to the chassis.

Any other suggestions? If Chet and Remy are reading this what would Unique do ... BARF!

Isn't a Whine on a new alternator normal?

I'm running pretty much the best of cables and equipment.

I'll try chassi grounding the headunit power supply first. This should get ride of any ground loops in the system.

Let you all know what happens.

Of couse there is now whine when just running off the battery. Very annoying.

My headunit has 8V preouts, there shouldn't be anynoise in the lines.

Oh well, if it was easy everyone would do it.

Phew, it was just the gains. Set to high. Problem seems to be solved.

glad to hear it. alternator whine is quite possibly... one of the most annoying noises in the world.

Just to throw this out there you may also want to use a ground loop isolator, that way you will be able to get your gains up a bit more.
