i have the amps set up like this but now that i put the 2 15's in the trunk and i dont have much room because the box is a beast as you can see should i just leave the amps like this or should i remount them some where else

i built a mock wall between the seats and trunk (where that metal lip hangs over) put my amps between the seats and the trunk, then 2 screws that go from the front of the wall, into the box to hold it steady, inside the trunk....

I never liked the back of the seat mounting of amps. build a wall between the rear seat and pass compartment. I am not sure how I am putting mine yet

Are those amps actually screwed into the back ot the rear seats? Ouch... Although there is very little room I' am not one to screw things "into" the vehicle in non stock places. Have you thought of putting em where the Monsoon would have been and is there room on the other side to mount the other one in a similar position? It's tough space wise using such a large box So I feel ya bud. I would agree with a false wall type deal if you can't I think putting holes into the vehicle is a bad idea myself.

That box is really a beast though LOL hope your vehicle was put together well and you invested in alot of dynamat :<). I can see stuff being shaken loose and falling of your ride as you drive down the street...Hey isn't that Kniedes license plate there in the street? LOFL :<)

but wont the wall block the bass even more ? when the back seats are up they take alot of the bass away so im asuuming the wall will just block it out more

it certainly will. but what other options do you really have? other then maybe putting them where your spare is...

or making a false floor (if you can spare some height room in your trunk, which i'm not sure w/ a box that big) to hide them under.

we really don't have many options in our cars, being smaller, we don't have that perfect "hideaway" spot.

agree with above.. tough position to be in. there is one other option which I presonally detest but have used before.. Replace your back seat rest with a box that spans the whole area. I had a 73 olds gutless and removed the backrest portion replacing with a box holding 2 10s. The fit was perfect and didn't look too horrible considering the rest of the vehicle LOFL. I had my amp passenger side on the wall right of where your right foot would be. It was a long time ago think I only had one amp. Ghetto style for sure though.

haha well ill shoot some pics of the trunk. with this box i have mabye less then 4 inchs of free space left in the trunk. They hit hard and sound really good in this box. along the lines of bad luck the pannel in the back of the trunk broke the bass broke all of the clips off

but after talking to a few of my friends they think we should try to build a smaller box to fit the 15's in which idk if it will sound as good but its more practical consider i have zero trunk space left

haha i have a decent amount of dyno matt in the trunk on the top so the spoiler doesnt rattle. we actuall foamed the trunk around the licence plate with this stuff that expands its the stuff you use for like homes to seal cracks and shit works really well (a buddy of my mines dad came up with the idea) because every thing in the car was shaking and it sounded really bad. but now you really cant hear any thing when the windows are up. but when there down its loud as hell

this is like pics i took 10 mins ago reguarding the space i have left in the top its not really much so i think thats out. and with putting it under the spare id have to foam or fill the hole then mount the amps . i tooke the tire out and it shakes the shit out the car with out it in their so im at a stand still

this is what we did so far. and we foamed the pannels around the license plates and around the tail lights i have to scrape off the excess but it makes the outside sound alot smoother and softer and keeps most of the bass in the car

well.... replacing your tire with amps might work (if they fit) OR see if they fit between the amp and the top of the trunk... or, maybe mount them to the back of the box, so they aren't on the seats, but still in between them.....

OR

find some totally new, unknown hiding place and takes pics so we can all abuse it.

just remember to check all the holes and tape them up because this stuff expands fast and the sun affects even more lol for a while we had to keep cutting the excess of over and over but it worth it its doesnt really rattle its just the center of the trunk alittle bit

i think its possible id have to slant both amps on a angle mount them on 2 peices of would and find a way to fill in the extra space with some form of foam ill pull out the box later and see if it i will work it might now becuase one of the amps is a litttle longer then the other
