Okay, I was trying to wire up something through the power at the lighter plug (the passenger side one). I think I might have blew a fuse, but I'm not sure. Everything works, except the trunk red lights (outside brakelights work) and the foglights (and of course, the thing I was wiring up). The reds don't turn on with the headlights though. The front corners don't blink when I use the remote to unlock it either, but they work with turn signals.
Any ideas? I think I tried everything for the last 2 and a half hours. :pissed:

and if you must know, "the thing" is a knight rider LED kit from fusion...

I know that both power outlets (extra and cig lighter) are on the same fuse. Don't know about the trunk lights? Maybe the charge blew out the filmet in the bulbs, and not the brake light one? Stranger things have happened.
Check the fuse boxes. I know that the acc and cig lighter fuse is in the block under the hood. There is a map in the manual. B)
Did the connection throw a spark? It's possible that blew the fuse. See if the acc & cig fuse is next to a exterior light fuse. That's all I can think of

Another thing that doesn't work: lights in the guages. The guages themselves work, and so do the dummy lights, but the needles and my aftermarket guages don't light up.

Check all your fuses, thats what it sounds like
remember you have 3 fuse panels, most likely what you did was tap the live positive on a ground n fryed somethin.

so how much are fuses anyway? I'll just replace them all, just to save some frustration and aggrivation. (at least turn signals still work...to a point)

umm dood
fuses are like $3 for a mixed case of em, and you dont need to replace them all. Just find the 1 that is burnt out and replace it. Its simple.
And not to be mean but if your not knowlegable enough to figure out which fuse is blown I would not recommmend you installing something electrical into your car unless you know what your doing. Because if you cross a wrong wire or use a wrong gauge wire or unsafe wiring techniques you can start a fire in your car simply from some lights. Have somebody help you who knows what they are doing for your own sake.

heh...good point. But my point was that it seems as if there is more than one circuit blown here. you do have good advice though, and I will have somebody out there with me.

2 fuses dead under the hood. All taken care of. I can't believe how much stuff rely on those 2. :o

well the fuse is the safe point in between the battery and the accesory....if there wa no fuse and you did that, your car would be a big flaming pile on the ground

yeah, I know what the fuses do, and I'm glad that they are there.
