Alero live data on Pocket PC?

Hi,
do any of you know how to connect a Pocket PC to the data port on the Alero and what kind of software is needed to get live data?
I looked around on the web but most of the software costs a ton of money.

Man thats crazy talk... i can only get my ppc to hook up to my computer half the time!

Yeah there is nothing that i have ever seen to do it... at least for cheap (free) and I am all about ppcs.

I have an Dell Axim 5 somewhere in a box and if I remember right a serial cable


all I need is the connector between the serial cable and the car and we'll be up and running and I know exactly what happens under the hood :ninja:

i'm also looking to do this, just with my laptop. But the thing thats really stopped me in my tracks is the lack of software (i don't want to pay for it....http://forums.govteen.com/images/smilies/pirate.gif) and not understanding the difference in the cables/protocols so i get the right cable...

I've got a Dell Axim x51v with WM5 and it's completely worthless. WM5 won't connect to shit. I think it's possibly the worst WM version ever. It will only sync with Outlook most of the time, and they've never been able to port it to Linux, which is what I use 99.9% of the time. Good luck getting it connected to the Alero.

i don't think you have to upgrade it to wm6 ... wm2003 should work
