Aleromod.com Upgrades (http://sites.google.com/site/aleromodupgrades)
The massive compilation of modifications for the Alero.

This is a wiki-based site, so if you register with Google and I approve you, you can edit and add things as well. Formatting must remain identical to other pages with similar content. If you screw things up, I will edit it. If you think you broke things, let me know, I'll fix it. Or you can easily revert it to a previous edit. A how-to create pages link is on the main page.

For now, if you have some information/images you think would be useful to have in this ultimate resource (of aftermarket upgrade modifications, not repair information or other general information, as that is what this forum is for), shoot me a PM or post in this thread.

The performance section will have many diagrams and detailed information relating to engine components, forced induction, and such. Wiring up gauges, etc. Can't wait to get crackin on that.

actually i intend to put on flawed parts to avoid, heh heh.

also anyone who wishes to have a "how-to" put up that would be great, whether it be fiberglassing the console, replacing common parts like the wheel hubs or window regulators, that would be awesome. i'll do the best i can with what's currently available in the how-to section and my own personal experience.

Added information on main cluster gauge modifications, including Cherry's LED backlit How-To. Also added information on all different sorts of gauge pods. Also a lot of information and How-To's on the Transmission apge.

REQUEST: It'd be nice if YALEROYNOT or someone else compiled his information and pictures on LED needles into a How-To so I can add that to the Glow Needles area of the Gauge Cluster page.

I got your PM and reply here, if you don't want to help out the community anymore simply due to my nonresponsiveness, fine. I said I'll invite people as the overall layout is set. There is no real area set up for the 2.4L -> Quad 4 conversion yet. I'm working on it. But since you don't give a shit anymore, I'll take care of it.

No, nearly all of them are hosted on our space on Google, and if it fills up, I'll host them on my server which will remain permament. I hate outdated images, so I'm making sure this remains forever.

None of them should be hosted on Photobucket, which OSV are you talking about? Edit: Oh woops, the Emblems/Stickers page I just copied natedawg's images where they were, I'll fix that later, can't see Photobucket hosted images at work.

So how do we get this stickied, or made some type of permanent link. It would suck to have to keep trying to find this thread everytime you wanted to go there if you didn't add it to favorites already? Thinking in the mindset of someone new.

Not saying that you don't want to put in the work yourself, but when it comes to the 3400 performance section, you could probably just use the links from the existing websites for reference i.e Milzy, Intense, Z-Spec, etc. Seems none of the 3400 guys have chimed in on this. The 2.4L section has been uploaded with an assload of information and stuff.

Many other sections have been updated.

Just FYI.

07-10-2008, 01:45 PM
Nitrous (http://sites.google.com/site/aleromodupgrades/performance/engine/ld9-24l-twin-cam-2/nitrous-oxide) information up. Along with some information on Camshafts (http://sites.google.com/site/aleromodupgrades/performance/engine/ld9-24l-twin-cam-2/camshafts) for the 2.4L and Oil Pump swap (http://sites.google.com/site/aleromodupgrades/performance/engine/ld9-24l-twin-cam-2/oil-pump) stuff. Actually pretty much the entire 2.4L section has been updated with tons of shit. Check it out.

Also tweaked the Body Kits, Taillights, Spoilers, and Hoods pages. And put up a 52mm Gauges (http://sites.google.com/site/aleromodupgrades/interior/gauges-52mm) page along with How-Tos for all the gauges I know how. If anyone is willing to write up a How-To for any that are not links, let me know.

Also if anyone is nice enough to help out on the 2.2L and 3400 sections and is willing to keep the formatting just like the rest of the site (basically someone who knows wtf they're doing editing Wikis, this one's pretty easy) it would be awesome. Let me know and I'll approve you as a collaborator.

Man a forum for this site would be great. Subsections for "Requests" and "User Submissions" etc.

so what was the best gain from doing this?

[ion] C2
08-17-2010, 08:52 PM
Absolutely no misfiring. Smooth idle. No spark blowout, can gap your plugs a bit wider for more surface area on the spark since it's more powerful, which allows for a better combustion. Also, that delay when you put your foot down is gone, no bogging before launching since the spark can handle that random big burst of air/fuel.

I was running .025 and blowing out at 18 psi, now I'm at .038 running perfectly smooth and powerful.

alero_bmxer
08-17-2010, 08:55 PM
sweet cause ive noticed if i hammer on it from a dead stop it bogs really bad then picks up and goes. plus my car is idling horribly so hopefully this will fix that.
