So I lowered the Car, Now I'm calling around for someone to do an alignment.
So far most shops around can't do lowered cars.
And the ones that do have quoted me at 200$-$250 for an alignment.

Is this what everyone else paid? or are these guys trying to hose me?

Wow, thats insanely expensive... For me it was $150 for tire balance and alignment, and most of that cost was because my alignment was screwed, and it took them awhile. Your getting hosed for sure.

So far the best I've gotten is $80 for an alignment (if I fit on his machine) PLUS like half an hour a tire for camber adjustments

Just go to like a sears they will do anything and as long as you don't need the camber bolts a four wheel is like $80. They did my bagged Alero with 2 camber bolts which took extra time and it was like $190 that included 6 month guarantee which I used!

this is what I thought, I'm pretty pissed
so far my buddie "knows a guy" who will do it for $60, but has not gotten back to me in 3 days.
And a girl around here said she can get it done for me in exchange of my subs that I am selling for $200

I hate this town

Are these prices from the dealer?

How low is it? I doubt it's any lower than most stock performance cars (corvette, GTO, etc..)

I installed s/t springs and struts last sat. and as of this morning The lowest part of the underbody is 4" off the ground, when I tell the guys that, they say no way.

And I can't go out of town, as there is nothing outside of this place but fields, and garages that would def not even talk to me the second i say "lowered" they'll tell me to get back to the "city"

And I haven't even bothered to talk to a dealer

I don't see why they have a problem with that. I just checked for comparison, I measured the lowest point (engine shield) on the '06 GTO which has a TOTALLY stock suspension and it looks just a hair under 5".

Yeah $250 is insane.

Probably pissed that they didn't get to lower it themselves.

Don't tell them it's lowered ;)

so you need an alignment when getting lowering springs? i'm getting the Sprints from Alero 2 Envy

Ion after you pull the struts you need an alignment. AleroSPL just dont tell them it is lowered, bring it in like it is a stock car, they will never know the difference. I just had one done last week at the GM dealer, it cost me $120 and I am lowered. I did not tell them that, just dropped it off.

Talk to the dealer. You might be surprised what they can do for you.

A dealer here that I go to doesn't care what I do to the car. They still service it without questions.

mine told me putting an aftermarket radio in, would void the cars warranty. :glare:

I agree with redog ... just dont tell them it is lowered. I think that is why some places are trying to hose you.

I have mine lowered and i got my alignment for around $60.

yeah, just tell them its a normal allignment. Springs won't lower your car that much, it just puts it more in line with what european cars have stock.

The only problem my mechanic has had so far is you need to drive my car up onto some wood or such, its too low for the arms of the hoist to get under it.
