Goto their a/f gauge section, they have an write-up for the a/f gauge installation which was done on a grand am which is the same for us.

they also have a A/F ratio gauge install pigtail device thats like $15 and it makes it REAL easy to install one. (this is on PFYC.com too under the GA section)

I just installed my a/f gauge and it does not work, if my o2 sensor is bad would that cause it not to work? wire is hooked to purple if anyone is wondering
power ground an illum are fine. any help would be most appreciated.
confused and mad at this thing, i am thinkin 80 bucks down the drain.

because nothing lights up when the car is on, only illum when I turn headlights, none of the leds for rich or lean light up at all.

did u tap it into the purple wire in the first o2 sensor, the one before the cat. Which you can get to the wires at the firewall behind the coil packs.
Or you might have a bad gauge. Even if the wire is tapped incorrectly the led should still light up cuz they work on voltage. If the o2 sensor was bad, then the gauge wouldn't move at all, it'll stay at rich or lean reading 24/7, or if u tapped into the wrong wire.

purple wire if you're not useing the quick conncet from pfyc
It won't work if it's not grounded really good

I did tap into purple/violet wire in the harness next to o2 sensor behind coil. not even one led is lit, when i hooked up the g/p/illum, i did see one led for rich but the next day (before i hooked purple wire) it was not lit. So I know power ground and illum are fine, we checked, purple several times and it seems to be secure, but I am getting no reading, so if the o2 is bad it will still read something? guess that saves me from buying new o2, so I guess I have to buy a new gauge, that blows
any other ideas before I piss away another 80 bucks?

U could always stick a voltmeter on the purple wire and see if there is a voltage there. make sure u try using a couple different grounds.
like the one ur grounding the sensor to (hopefully frame) cause u want a REALLY good ground as i don't think there will be a very high voltage coming from an o2 sensor. I could be wrong though.

no o2 sensors only put out low voltage.. only puts out up to 1volt.

I FIXED IT!!!
my power apparently was not connected securley. I pinched with my crimps harder and it started to work.
now understanding it.
at WOT it does not read much (faint lean) like it is leanner then the gauge recognizes. it does not reach much into rich at all, just making sure that is normal for stock
any help much apprec.
