Are you planning on driving around with the seat down? I didn't cover the inside of my board, just the trunk side. I though about it and just decided to mount the amp back on the seat as well. You install looks very good, can't wait to see it wonce all the wires are installed.

the seat will be up most of the time unless I want to show the amps. the trunk side will get carpet and the interor side is getting alum sheet with some type of grinder swirls and candy blue paint (maybe). not sure if I am going to paint and then grind (blue with silver swrils) grind then paint (blue and blue swirls). here is the sheet and the candy paint would like it darker so might not use it.

here is a quick idea of the grinder swirls I intend on doing of course with more detail. this was just a quick job to give the effect. was also thinking of embossing "YALEROYNOT" or a big olds symbol in to the trunk carpet side of the panel.

Heres the skinny on it.

With the 6X9's out and the seats down its the loudest.

Put the board in, seats down... Ok, but not as loud for sure.

Put the seats up, board in its a little more muffled yet.

Also a heads up. Guy that bought my amp claims one channel was burned out of it. He had it installed at a "reputable shop" and watched it being installed. Again just a heads up, you may have an issue laying ahead... Since I never tested mine and it was for sure new (no screwdriver marks on heads) and I didnt install it I cant guarantee it. Again just beware and test it out all around before you make stuff final!

think I could "port" the wall would it help ? I was thinking about it for some design effect. clear plexy the amps backs and cut some holes on a square shape opposite the amps then leds inside the amp for light.

Any cut outs to the board will help for sure.

Anything that doesnt restrict the transfer of air from trunk to cabin is a good thing. The more open it is, the better.

That box is actually too big to be firing towards the back.

In the Alero, when it comes to a box that big, you will actually be .5-1.5db louder with the box firing foward into the cabin and both seats down.

It is looking really clean though :)

  :haha:

.....I thought about putting a port in the wall but then I thought that I would have to deal with a port size and frequency...in essence your making a single reflex bandpass enclosure kinda if you count the trunk as a box...a big ass box but a box none the less, and really really low on efficiency.

Now that I think about it I basically made a box for the 6x9's in the back and probably mucked up there performance granted they are only stock right now but aren't they designed as infinite baffle speakers?

lol, oops.
I was confusing that piece of wood with the back of the box.

My bad :p

Well thats only one part of the puzzle dude.

My 8" box is just as long and tall as that board...

But its only 11" wide...

Fi-Alero

Yeah.

What I meant was that if that was to be a sub box the exact same size as that piece of wood, it would be louder to fire forward.

But I like how clean that looks :)

well I have slowly been working on this when I am home.

here is the olds symbol I made for the trunk side of the amp wall

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh198/YALEROYNOT/0731081737.jpg

the wall will be covered in a material that looks like brushed alum. and the symbol will be in blue vinyl with blue leds for a glowing floating look. here are the materials

http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh198/YALEROYNOT/0801081758.jpg

and here is the new radio. It is installed but the factory trim looks like crap. so I am making a new one with the new heater controls in it that fits better.

Port the wall..

To hell with it, Port the seats too. In the middle, put a Couple holes and put a plastic sleeve in them and make it look good. Hahaha.
