it was a manufactured concept, i guess. one of a kind, "cali edition" i believe. made it to a few car shows i believe...

hahah. being a unibody car, its really hard to. you cut the top off and the rest of the body looses alot of support/rigidity. You have to reinforce frame on the sides if you want to even think about doing that.

its been talked about alot, and no-one has ever duplicated it. closes we have is i think richie (aftermath alero) with an aftermarket ragtop sunroof.

^your car might fold like a piece of paper, you may want to do some research first.

That's right.

The car didn't have a top. I have a pic of it somewhere. It was made as a concept but never produced. It had an actual VIN, but unknown if it was road worthy due to a weakened body due to no roof, which unibody cars rely on ;)

just gonna saws all it off.. stay under 30 and no DRIFTING!! should hold-up

Vtolds

or you could, build a subframe and hide it with some side skirts. That way the car can support its self still and you wont have to worry about it folding like a paper crane.

..or... it'll fall apart. there would be nothing to hold up the metal on the sides of the car. all the support would be gone.

THe cali edition Alero was the RKS Alero green with a carbon fiber hood and yellow wheels. That car is just called the Alero convertible.

Viper may not be the fastest sports car, or the best handling, but it sure does take the "bad ass" category hands down. I had an SRT10 behind me once, and it was downright intimidating. Looks pretty sweet in convertible too.

dont like that theres an antenna!! that is one of the cool things bout aleros, antenna is in the backglass, no washer nozzles on the hood, everything is already shaved, i shaved mine further by filling in the front bumper emblem, no emblems, side moulding, it looks clean, but i would still drive that alero!!

Anybody know what motor it had?

thanx Redog & joserivas19

3400 I believe but can't be sure. I don't think that car is alive anymore. Did GM crush it? I know they crushed 2 of the 3 OSV Aleros.

It has to have an antenna, due to the back glass being folded down inside the car.

Ahhhhhh if only GM was smart instead of stupid, Production of this was supposed to start in 2001 or 2002 :ninja:

have you checked out some of the hard-top verts? without the seams in the roof, they would look like normal cars. ;)
