Hey all,

Ok when I baught the car said anti-theft on the spec sheet and came with a keyfob for doors and trunk, however I popped my trunk yesterday with all the doors locked to get my work boots and alarm didn't sound. Is there a valet mode? Could the guys have been lyers and maybe took the radio anti-theft and said that was the anti-theft system? What options are there to install an alarm and still keep the remote entry stuff?

The anti-theft thing they speak about is in the key...its a microchip that goes along with the passlock...its not a literal alarm that sounds when your car is getting broken into.

^no, there is no chip in the key. thats called pass-key

our cars have passlock which has to do with the key lock cylinder. If the key doesn't line up just right, it senses that the car might be getting stolen and disables the vehicle. the security light might come on.

also, the fob system can be programed to an extent to go off under different circumstances so you may want to read in your manual about different fob programs.
