they look good...clean and simple..if you want to save a lil weight go with the silver if not chrome on
Best, Cheapest, Easiest way to lower is lowering springs, Cheapest Easiest is to cut stock springs to the spring rate height of lowering springs. I did both and prefered the cut springs. Using a die grinder or cutting wheel of some sort. If you do cut stock springs don't use a torch because the heat will damage the entire spring.

Should be good as long as you don't get a huge tire. Something like a 225/40/18 should be fine. I believe its 8.5 wide rims is the max for Aleros without custom chopping of the fender wells.

You have to get the right tire size so that the overall diameter of the tire/wheel combo is the same as stock.
Worst way to lower a car is cutting the stock springs. Unsafe, for one. Also lowering springs are stiffer since it's a lower ride height you don't want to be bouncing all over the place and bottoming out components or your car.
The only thing you are taking away is the same ride height for cut or lowering springs. I had better ride with cut springs than I did with sprint or what ever the other name they go by is. I still have not figured out the safety issue as long as you seat them properly in the mounts. Bouncing usually happens to people that cut too much or heat their springs. Besides i told him its the cheapest, easiest way. I also gave him the best cheapest easiest way.

Define "better ride." Not feeling every bump in the road? Smoothly going over bumps?
That's because your stock springs aren't as stiff as lowering springs and your car body is raising and lowering a lot more than with lowering springs. The "rice bounce," as they call it. Handles poorly, allows for bottoming out of struts/bottom of car/etc.
Lowering springs are supposed to have a rougher ride, less suspension travel.
Oh i agree that a progressive rate spring is made for less travel. I am just saying a smoother ride will be with the cut springs. I don't know why "they" would call it rice bounce considering lowering springs were very available for foreign cars and little for compact domestic cars. Who is "they" any ways.
I also had strut tower bars that made handling better for my car. I know {ion} C2 will argue that should not cut your springs and my arguement is that its THE cheapest, easiest way.

They = those that know you shouldn't cheap out and do the half-assed method of chopping up stock parts that were never intended to support the weight of the car like that. You removed material, less coils. Not safe, could break, could slip, and bounce.

Go with alittle more meat for tires 225/35/18 or 225/30/18

I thought you said more meat lonnie... You could do 245/35R18 on those.

So in other words you mean you attempted to quote someone that doesn't exist by name.I took out 1 full coil and it made mine low. If you think one coil will make it break than tahts your opinion.
Face it [ion] C2 you like to argue with me even when i am telling you my reasoning and saying that I agree with you.

I know you said that was the cheapest way. Did I say it wasn't? I didn't disagree with you at all, I brought up the safety and reasons why you really shouldn't do it that way, which were perfectly valid points, that you decided was somehow attacking you. And that I was somehow "quoting" people that don't exist. Where the hell did I "quote" anything from a nonexistant person? Typically it's called the "rice bounce" which is an effect of cutting your stock springs. You get laughed at. All there is to it. I don't need to "quote" any specific person on it.
Face it AGT, you like to argue with me even though I'm not arguing with you and only giving information in order to make sure everyone understands all methods of performing a modification and the pros/cons of each!

If the weight doesn't pose a big issue I really don't care. I just want the car to look good. But go before show... If I could get a new engine I would jump on that because I got 133k Miles and I love this car.
