Don't start insulting/throwing crap for no reason other then the fact that you didn't like what you saw.

heh, looks like we have a hypocrite on our hands. If you dont have anything nice to say cherry....dont say it:rolleyes2:

Bad idea. Not only is it terribly ugly and doesn't go with anything at all, but what happens when you get into a crash and your passenger airbag goes off?

i'm telling him it'll look bad in our cars... i'm NOT telling him his car already looks like crap.

velour = tacky... unless your in 1970.

if he goes ahead and does it, i'm not going to tell him to burn his car... its his decision, but TO ME, it looks like someone covered your dash in muppet fur.

post 4, was joking with him, and clearly from his response... he understands that.

I always say "to each his own". Now what I would do is never come near the thing with a ten foot cattle prod. I personally think these things are ugly, unless you go all out and use fun fur instead, and fun fur the roof liner, add some dingo balls, a big set of dice for the mirrors, and a "Dukes of Hazard" horn. Also, as what was mentioned earlier, don't get into a head on, unless you dislike you front seat passenger, as the air bag most likely won't deploy fully, if at all.

As i said, that is MY opinion. Feel free to do as you please.

Dont do it. The alero dash looks really nice, all wrapped in vynil (or leather, dont really know). Covering it in fabric would look really lame and would be a waste of money. The only thing that it's probably good for is, it protects the dash from the sun, but I don't know if the protection is worth the ridicule you would place on your car.

Well the dashmat would be cool if you got say, a nice floral pattern... They really remind me of those tea-kettle covers you see at seniors homes haha.

If youre going to paint your interior panels do some research first. My buddy got a shit kia given to him by his parents and he tried to paint it. He let me help out, and all I can say is I've never had as much fun ruining a car before lol.

i saw a guy sand and prime his interior parts, then paint it, and hit it with a few coats of clear coat and it turned out ok.

It would be good if you had a 1975 Alero pimpmobile

Is your dash peeling? If so, I suggest a new dash pash from a guy on eBay with the user name "az*bob" or something like that.

$148.99 shipped, fairly easy to install, if you don't have a gauge pod and matches the orginal color. The only downfall is that it's plastic :p

mine was peeling so bad... cracking apart from being sun baked.. it literally felt like a potatoe chip on certain parts.. it just crumbled.

this "cap" is only the top portion of the dash isnt it? is there a way to get the dash re vinyled without the purchase of a new one?

What is the big deal with this guy wanting to buy a dashboard cover!

It will protect it from the sun and make it last longer. And we know how bad the dashboards are in these cars.

Do you guys think at all?

08-12-2008, 08:06 AM
...but velour!? andy.. you do realize the 70s ended right??

if you really want a painted dash, i'd suggest going for a fiberglass dashboard.

i just thought velour would look better than the dead Muppet on the dash board

*falls over twitching*

well.. I tore the leather clean off the dash.. or vinyl.. whatever that shit is-

it doesnt look that bad.. it'd look better if it didnt have that basketball texture to it lol.. im not about to go sanding away at the entire dashboard though-

gonna call around and see what I can find-
