ok, when i bought my alero, i bought it through a private leasing company. For some reason they couldnt find an alero form a dealer that had a stock alarm system. So they got a local audio shop to put in an aftermarket. So all is great. Then one day(years later now) It sets itself off while im driving down the street. This alarom is propably the base of all base models, i think it only protects the front doors, and there is no motion, shock, or anyother type of sensor, but it does have ignition kill......boy that sucked when i found out..... :pissed:

Ok fast forward, nothing happened after that night while i was driving. But then one morning i go to my car and there is a note on it saying that my alarm was going off all night. So i take it to the audio place and leave it with them. They tell me later that they cant duplicate the problems i said i was having so there is nothing they can do. and i dont blame them cause they are prtty freak occurences.

sometimes i come back to my car and disarm the car and go to open the door and its actually armed......... :pissed:

Then this afternoon i finally see it happen. Im sitting on my patio enjoying the afternoon sun and my car alarm goes off. There is no one around the car, no car drove buy, the keys were inside on my desk and no one else was home. So what the bunny is going on.

Could it be a loose wire, a faulty brain, my car setting the alarm off itself just to piss people off..........

oh and i had it in the GM dealer the other day for something else, and the service guy hooked it up to the comp to see whats going on and he said there were some door lock codes in the system.

I didnt puse it cause the guy ws chargin me 75 an hour  to fix something else...

so can anyone sugest where i should start? or should i just rip it out and start fresh?

thanx

wow,

that sucks. if i were you i would just replace the alarm it sounds like a bad brain.

I would recomend the Avital 3300 Alarm to you if you decide to replace it, this is

the same company that makes Viper security.
