I know the body panels and such, but I've been looking for CD-ROM manuals for both cars (I for each) and I found one that covers a large amount of GM cars. It covers the 75 to 90 Delta 88 but it covers the 92 to 98 Grand Am but is also says it will cover the 1997 to 2000 Malibu and Cutlass. It's a Chiltons, which I think is better than a Haynes

I know the Cultass stopped in 1998 but the Bu when on to 2000. Plus the Bu is a 3100 motor. But the 3400 motor is a bored out 3100.

I know the EGR valves were diferent / non existant before 99, what else is different

I want to buy it, but I def buy it if it covers both ;) For $24, is it a good buy?

lol my g/f just junked a 1998 GAGT...and I have a 2k Alero. the GAGT had a 3100 motor, (as does the malibu). Honestly, the only stuff I can think of that you could use from a 98 GAGT and put on a 2000 Alero without fabbing your own stuff is the rotors and springs. (I'm sure there's more, when you dig down, but for easy piddily shit, that's it.)

I'm basicly talking about the mechinal design, not so much swapping parts

The 92-98 and 99-05 are almost different in every way.

^^ That's what I thought.

Does anybody know where I can get a CD-Rom manual for the Alero?
