Cleaning Egr Valve???

Howdy y'all. GM said me engine light is on because I gotta' clogged EGR valve. Instead of replacing the valve can I just clean it somehow and replace the gasket?

If so, how would you recommend I clean it?

i think it is something that you just need to replace. I don't think it would be all that expensive from a parts store like pep boys.

you CAN clean them, i dont recommend it. just buy a new one.
