does the brand or size cone filter really matter? like lets say spectre, kandn, apc, etc dont they all do the same thing? and what about size my 3pc cold air came with a small cone filter smaller than the ones ull see in store shelvs? does bigger mean more performance? then u have some that are flat on the top and other cave in with more filter. so confusing whats the difference?

More surface area = better air flow. A cylindrical filter (cone) will offer a greater surface area most of the time. If you have a cone filter with your CAI, it should offer better airflow than a CAI with a flat filter.

it does matter. what brand u put on. The spectre/apc (well apc is out of biz now) the mesh they use btw the filter material will rust when water hits it. I had this filter before from autozone. PIECE Of CRAP!
the K&N, S&B filter.. the more expensive filter that you can wash and reuse is the way togo.
