V8 alero he used a s10 frame and put a ls1 in it . he bolted the alero body to the s10 frame

in fact pawzbear posted some of the old fuzzy pictures of this same car like a year ago pretending it was her new engine, looked the same then as it does in my pics, wonder what was holding it off from being "done"

the guy was really nice he did a amazing job on making it look completely stock the interior was exactly the same as stock other than the drags you would think its just some regular alero

Yes this is very old, but I'm glad to see the car is still alive.

This is the only way an Alero can take the power, toqure, and body twist of a V8

Not really. Unless he's done more work to it, but years ago the car ran 14.8 in the 1/4 mile, kinda disappointing IMO

errr the only thing i can think of is if this really is a 5.7 is that weak ass early corvette motor from the early 90's C4 the one with 250 hp..........if thats the one and really ran a 14.8 then yes thats why its so dissappointing

yeah uhh this is really an ls1 look at it, it looks completely different, PCV lines oil cap thermostat housing........different places than the alero with the v8

jackpot nail o nthe head right there.......that motor blows in my opinion... 5.7 250 hp :( 300+ torque is ok though, but its one of those motors that just had its time and that time has passed, i compare it to fords 5.0 that had 200 hp :( meh i guess

I wonder what kind of suspension setup he has...looks like the frame's suspension is too narrow for the Alero's body. The wheels are so far in but it looks like he didn't cut into the wheel wells. It would be awsome to see some pics from during its build.

I guess the guy thought the motor would have been enough to make the car faster, or he just got a really cheap motor and didn't know any better.

Had to have been rebuilt, probably a stock rebuild. Beefy motor for 1984, but it's not 1984 anymore

The iroc z camaro had a 305 and a 350 both with the tune port injection. I think GM used that intake on a number of motors.

The picture Oldsnut posted is a 86-89 C4. The engine in the other picture [C2] posted is a '85 *or* some other conglomeration of small-block parts.

It can be adequate if it works right. It was made from 82-84 and was available in Corvettes and F-Bodies. It was a dual 2-barrel TBI setup.

Rip the motor out and drop in a 383 small block (350 bored .030 over with crank and rods from 400). You can get 400+ hp/torque set-ups for less than $5K.

WOW, its a real sleeper.. i cant see if its on a S10 fram, perherps it back half or minitub, but it a nice setup .. the Alero well hold more hp than what some ppls might think, In the V8 if you know where the weak points are then you fab for it, brace-n it up for a drang car but if you building a street ride then it not really need.. Now as for the motor TPI l98 or LB9 with i see a com cams .. like to know if the rear end is 9 inch or 12 bolt.. but its look for a drag car guessing its running 12's maybe/?? Funny it look like my car before i started to cut mine up to build my into a V8 , with out using any fram on bolting.. stock locations for the rearend and re-using the stock sub-fram for the motor.

IMO i like it, nice a clean.

Well guys things are slow.. selling my trans is taking longer than i though,the ecomeny taking a shit has killed my time in the garage to work on my car.

right now i will be finishing up the rear end all weld's and setting the ride hight and then installing new struts for the front...

i did sell my rims so just need to sell the stuff i dont need...

anyone with a 3400 like to buy a modded ECU/pcm? chip'd buy ASE..little more hp and not speed liminter....it works great if you have headers...
