Aftermarket Radio in the car...I know its the green wire that is the antennae wire on the rear windshield...what do I need to do to it so that my radio doesn't cut in and out as I'm driving, just power it? HELP!

Light green wire at the harness up front. Simply splice it into the switched 12V wire.

I would think that most new head units would have an output for a powered antenna that you should use??

Yeah, but if you use the antenna lead from the head unit, the antenna is only powered when you are using the radio (so it's not on when you are using the CD player).

So this is good, I was going to ask about this thing since I'm rewiring the stereo now myself. So is this confirmed that the green wire to the Antenna Amplifier Module is only powered when the radio is on? If that's the case it appears there is no true switched lead from the radio that can be used as an amp on signal, am I right? The factory amp (at least on the 99 upgrade, non-monsoon) connects to a hot-always lead.

I used my power antenna wire on my aftermarket HU, works like a charm.

Most aftermarket HU's should also have an output to switch on an amp as well. Don't use the antenna output to switch on an amp!

I'm not using an aftermarket HU though. I'm re-using the factory HU and replacing everything else.

y shouldn't i use that to turn on an amp?
and can't i just splice that wire (its blue) put one to the antennae wire, and one to the amplifier?
