so got in a small fender bender first time since got my liscense. so few questions. alls i have is some deep scratches and hole in front bumper. it was a clipping and everything feels tight and secure not a mjor hit. safe to assume i should only need a new bumper or could the clips behind it still be broke from sumthin that minor? also anyone ever have this done or hear how much it could average cost for a new front bumper installed?

I have seen them as cheap as $150 and I would say just install it yourself.

bumper covers arent hard to take off at all. a lot of clips, but they can be taken out easily with a clip tool. So buy one gmpartsdirect.com and put that sucker on your self!

dont get an ebay bumper......there might be fitting issues. a few guys bought the knock off of the ASS body kit and had fitment issues.

Duraflex makes a decent OEM replacement, or you could just call your local autowecker and see if they have one. the downside is that most times a car in a wrecking yard is there due to head on collision. but hey its worth a shot.

THERE IS ALWAYS MORE DAMAGE BEHIND A DAMAGED PART!!!!!
insurance compaines will only put the kit back on the car if you already had a kit on the car, if this bumper is fixable we will fix it, if its not state farm will put a OEM, allstate will do a remanufactured,

some of the other low ball companies will do junk yard, which there is nothing wrong with a junk yard bumper, we get paid to clean junk yard parts up, small scratches, imperfections like the inditations from the license plates bolts shit like that
anyway........what kind of insuracne do you have and the other party has too, then i can go from there

both have geico my deductable is so high that its not covered its out of pocket i called three body shops two of them said even a hole that i have can be fixed without replacing? i never heard of that before.

geico is not to bad, dude we can fix plastic, and no its not POLYURATHENE!!!, its teo/or tpo, fixing plastic is not a bad thing if the tech is experienced in plastic repair it will last the life time of the car
look at my thread and look at my rear bumper, customized using plastic welding, and plastic repair material
let me tell ya you paying out of pocket can be a bad thing, why ?? THERE IS ALWAYS MORE DAMAGE!!!!
so lets say i get your car, i see the work order it says customer pay, i see 4 hours to fix your bumper, i look over the bumper, go back to the boss tell him i want 2 more hours to fix this bumper the correct way
oh but wait look the headlight mount panel is cracked, oh look the lock support is bent, oh look a headlight is cracked, oh look the core support is shoved back, oh look the re=bar is cracked its plastic
so your estimate might say, 650, now the car is torn down and MORE DAMAGE!!! its now over 1,000
see what i mean

couldnt i refuse all that though since the bumper is intact even if behind the scenes it could be worse i could care less its such a tiny hole and its on tight as before the hit?

you can do what you want, but me personally if i knew there was damage behind the bumper, it would sit uneasy in my mind
but if you want to go the cheap route by all means go for it
