Passed over 189,000 miles today.
Decided to take some shots. My roomate's camera doesn't do so well in low-lit conditions. I took some shots at EATON, lol. Drove all over their grass; luckily no one was there. A cop rolled by and was like o_O.
Lots of upgrades coming very soon in various aspects of the car... engine dress up, engine, header, injectors, interior trim, seats, harnesses, 13 second slips.. etc.

and that's not "almost overheating" that's just above normal operating temp, that's like 220 degrees. normal temp is around 200.

looks great but......
you need some fancy exhaust tips that follow the curve of the kit. what size are the tail pipes ? I have an idea ;) hmmmm I have a welder some SS tube, sheet metal and the ASS kit you might find some tips on your door step some day. ;) I will see what I can do
you are running 18 psi of boost at idle ?
love those wheels
I would like to see the tail lights tinted a little, some BIG calipers on that sucker. well done tho very nice
[ion] C2
10-12-2008, 09:47 PM
haha yes 18 PSI of boost at idle.. 18 inches of mercury vacuum, or -9 PSI.
The exhaust tips I was looking at getting are 2.5" in, 3.5" out dual tips, but they're $108.

you guys also don't have a HEATON supercharger.......they suck at producing heat, and make temps go way up, that is why i had an intercooler and always some kind of hood scoop..........ion you really need to look for an aftermarket hood or scoops, just something to let some heat out........
you don't realize how much of a difference it makes until you do, and i will never run boost again without it.......

i may go have eibach's put on... i fear for the winter though.. trudging through deep, hardened snow and ice pushing against the front of the kit and pulling off the rear isn't that great
it'll definitely be lowered before ASS, then i'd have time to get a deep snow car before next winter
bag it then you can have it high in the winter and touch the floor in the summer

bagging is light whatchoo talkin bout
i have a flange, an MP45 hacked off manifold, and an MP62 supercharger. just need a few measurements and I could slap in an intercooler to that. i want to see if the L61 kit's manifold can somehow fit on the LD9..

I already asked if it was possible to intercool the MP45 and had negative answers, how could it be done?
These superchargers live on methanol. To physically intercool, you'd have to hack up the intake manifold and put one built into it, like how the MP62 one is. For all that effort it'd be better to use a bigger supercharger while you're at it. A couple on j-body are working on things like that. I'm supposed to be.. someone has remote mounted an M90 supercharger and FMIC'd it.

why? the 45 has an intake tube right? you just run an intercooler before that, just like the 62 setup that i used to run.....i really don't see it being that hard.......
kwhauck
10-14-2008, 10:00 AM
edit, i just looked at some pics of your setup, HOLY SHIT!!! it would be so easy to intercool your setup vs the 62, just because of where the intake tube is, MAN!!! so easy, seriously, i guarantee, i could do it for less than $500.......
[ion] C2
10-14-2008, 10:03 AM
The MP45 is built right into the manifold... the piping you see there is my air intake piping, which is before the supercharger, not an outlet.
kwhauck
10-14-2008, 10:08 AM
oh shit, NM.....damn.......hmmmm so a build in is your only option, that sucks for you.....
[ion] C2
10-14-2008, 10:10 AM
I planned on making an FMIC capable one.. I have an MP62, an intake manifold flange, as well as an "MP45 hacked off" manifold where I could weld up an intake plenum that piping from an intercooler could strap to.

i'll think you will find it a lot harder to get into the 12s than you think, meth injection really doesn't help that much, and you better be looking into some DRs and some kind of stiffer suspension for lauching, or some spring pucks just for the track........
[ion] C2
11-14-2008, 06:44 PM
I figured you'd say something like that. I heard about your experiences with it meth on GAGT. It does a lot on this setup, even though it didn't work out well for you. Meth is just to chill things out and allow for a lot more expandability with tuning. Remember, I don't have a physical intercooler.
My tires are fine. BFGoodrich KDWs are nice.
Meth is not, whatsoever, what will "get me into the 12s" as you for some reason think. You'll see what happens.
Cliff8928
11-15-2008, 02:37 AM
KDWs may be nice, but a set of 15s with wrinkle-wall M/Ts are where it's at for the track.

KDWs may be nice, but a set of 15s with wrinkle-wall M/Ts are where it's at for the track.
KDW's are alright, but they're still street tires. You'll want drag radials (at least) to get decent traction.
In the same vain, I know I'll never run as fast as my setup is capable of, since I will be doing it on street tires. Very sticky street tires (Dunlop Dirrezza Sport Z1 Star Specs) - but still street tires.
The pictures are very nice though, Chris.
