Seems like a stupid spot to put them though if you ask me.

Good work, but not a good location.

Honestly a kick panel would have got him the same sound but its his choice. Also I like the primer grey better than the glossy black.

I feel bad for your buddy.

Decent fab work.

Piss poor location and aiming.

really good job on the fab, honestly it really looks out of place for the location. Also, it won't sound all that good there. Mids and highs will sound better when it's not so close to your ears. I would agree with AGT that kick pannel would be a way better spot.

looks really nice but that being there would annoy the hell out of me while driving.

 i like it, that will be in your face loud

I thought about doing this but at the top of the pillar.

Just because its in your face doesnt mean it will be loud or sound good.

Mid Bass speakers are always best down low and are used to fill the area with sound. When the speaker is up high like that you loose the fill.

Tweeters are almost always off axis by design. Meaning they sound best when utilized off axis (i.e. not pointing right at your face). Please note when I say almost always I men like 99.8% of all tweeters or higher... Anything in a coaxial is meant to be off axis.

Obviously your buddy was going for the looks more than sound quality, and on that note I give you credit for a great looking install, but as you stated I'm sure it doesn't sound any better.

does everyone not understand they only sound bad if there there+set at the same sound level as everything else, if he has them on an amp, he has some seperate tuning capability and can turn them down so they don't sound like ass. the deck i have in my car can do this by itself, and it needs 2-3 amps one for the front set, rear and sub, or you can use a 4-ch and the amp one, if he has and EQ just on the pillar speakers he can also adjust his sound.

yeah i would have gone with 2"-3.5" tweets but the fab work looks awsome.

Good job with the fab wish I could do that...I would however had put them as close as I could at the top of the pillar.

yeah... he might get a citation from that.... I highly doubt a trooper would find that legal

I understand that, but the front staging would still be way off... I'm not saying it sounds like ass as I haven't heard it, but I'm sure with proper placement it could sound much better, still a stellar job on the look though and if that's what he wants to keep him happy then that's all that matters :)

Actually its not...then everyone would be getting tickets for having GPS on the windshield. It isn't in a blind spot in anyway...doesn't mean it looks good there...I would have put them higher behind the tinted part of the glass firing down...but its not me that did it...I still think that they turned out nice.
