Can't wait for my Tenzo seats and Takata harnesses to get here... and my carbon fiber coolant reservoir, and custom carbon fiber brake fluid reservoir...
Newer engine bay shots on Page 3.

Looks pretty good. It's the dark interior that makes is flow nicely.
I don't really care for the trim around the hazzard switch, not even in stock forum.

My photographer's takin some more shots tonight of the exterior, against the city skyline hopefully.
Oh yeah, thanks adam337 for the trim.
Once my CF reservoirs and HO IDI cover get here I'm going to detail the engine and take some real shots.

So I just got back from a photoshoot with stevespeed (new member on here), we were on the upper level of a parking garage. My exhaust/everything sounds awesome in there, so I floored it a few times as we went down the levels. We get to the 2nd level, and right around the corner is A COP. I just rolled by slow and nodded my head. He had his windows down so I know he heard all of it. Didn't do anything though...
Southfield cops don't seem to care about anything. I tested my new pulley next to one accidentally, 55 in a 40 then I realized the car next to me was a cop, lol.

i once sneezed by a cop (not like a loud sneeze that sprayed him with snot mist, but more like a shallow stifled girly sneeze) and he instantly jumped from his un-intimidating perch and sprouted what i'd call succubus wings. His eyes were glowing red and orange and he made gutteral grunting screams and he (not so carefully and gently) extracted and consumed the ENTIRE left hemisphere of my liver. it was the strangest thing to watch.

It is in fact REAL carbon fiber covered in a clear gel like coating..
Spilner521
10-28-2008, 01:19 AM
I'm not Ion, but I'll answer. Hydro immersion is when you dip the part into a liquid for a certain amount of time and when it comes out it has the carbon fiber pattern sort of "painted" on it. What Ion has, as well as myself, is actual pieces of carbon fiber that the company laid out on 3M adhesive, coated the top to keep it shiny and protected, and cut to fit over the dash pieces.

Looks like I have the more "silver" carbon fiber and you have the "black" carbon fiber, Spilner. I told you it was silver, adam337. Oh well, matches my silver carbon fiber pedals and such.

looks like your fuel pressure gauge has a bit of water in it....
and unless those interior pieces are 100% MADE of carbon fiber... your still just faking it. you fail ion.
[ion] C2
10-28-2008, 08:38 AM
It's silica filled, liquid filled gauges don't shake around from vibration like other mechanical gauges, tis nice.
I'm too lazy to make them completely from CF... though the guy who's making my brake fluid cover can and has done things like that for people.. he's made full interior panels and door tirm of carbon fiber..
cherrington17
10-28-2008, 08:40 AM
you should get the panel that runs down the side, next to the seat (covers all the wires going to the back) in cf too. kinda give it a nice touch as you get into the car....
paulyb
10-28-2008, 08:51 AM
Either way, dipped or wrapped, its still not a true carbon fiber piece, its not made somely from CF, its just wrapped in it. No diffrent if I took a whole boat load of CF and wrapped my car, its not a full CF car, because the inner shell is stll metal. Just like your pieces are still plastic under cf...........
just busting you balls C2
[ion] C2
10-28-2008, 08:53 AM
if the guy made door panels or interior trim out of carbon fiber it's not "wrapped," it's made of a thin layer of fiberglass in the shape of the trim and then the rest is made of carbon fiber
also i have those headlight covers that oldsnut has, but mine are real plastic, not imitation CF lolol

10-28-2008, 08:56 AM
