aging exhaust system

i know that there's like 4803467 exhaust questions going on but this one seemed like it wasn't similiar to the other threads. do exhaust systems "go bad"? like, obviously its bad when they fall off but other than clogged cats, do the pipes or muffler ever go bad? i was looking at mine the other day and everything still looks like its in good shape and corrosion free for the most part. and this is with nearly 110K on the car. am I supposed to be doing anything to extend the life of my exhaust or am i set for the life of my car?

lol, i don't know... i want to but its a low priority because i'm a yearbook editor and spend most nights at school to around 7-ish and then i work tuesdays and then my other free time is spent on chores at home because my parents treat me as if i was a personal slave.

If your exhaust is bad you would know it. In the meantime it will rust just like pretty much everything else underneath your unless its made of stainless steel, which the alero did not come with stainless exhaust.
