Excessive Amperage has a new 350 amp alternator in development. Unlike other alts that run 300+ amps that don't charge well at idle these are going to be for daily driving thanks to the new smaller lightweight T6061 aluminum (billet) overdrive pulleys for a higher alt spin at idle (smallest pulleys available average 17-18% on large case GM alts).
Obviously there is no price on these yet as they are still in the development and testing stage, but the owner (Nate) assures me that one of these units will cost less than 2 of his 200 amp models.
The first to be released is the the large case GM alternators followed by the Fords.
Just thought I'd share my knowledge of what is to be available soon ;)
P.S. Oh by the way, the 350 amp rating will be rated Hot and not cold as many other companies rate theirs.

Any alternator will produce more power when cold than after it and the engine bay warms up (thus the "hot" rating).

I just wish I could find a ho alt for the newer style alts (03+). I could really use one, and from what I've read, most of the older style ones dont put out much at idle, they need a overdrive pully. If anyone knows where I could get a ho alt with a overdrive pully (or one that puts out a decent amount at idle) that would work with a 03+ 3.4, I would be ecstatic!

You just found it... We did the design and manufacturing for the new Excessive Amperage overdrive pulleys... Here's the old style (still an overdrive) compared to the new T6061 overdrive pulleys:

Let me know what size alt you're looking for and complete make and model specs of your car w/ address and I'll get ya a quote :)

wouldn't you need a smaller belt for that too?
hmm... maybe i could swap my pulley as well. already have a h.o but i HATE how it drops in power when i'm idling...

No you do not need a smaller belt as the tensioner takes up what little extra slack there is.
And yes you can order just one of the new billet replacement overdrive pulleys for better charge at idle.

Not hard at all... especially if you have an impact gun... If you want to save some grunt work, you can also take the alt off and take it to a decent local automotive shop and they'll swap them out for you for like $5-10 bucks for the 5 minutes it takes them to do it.
PMs received, Will post response PMs tomorrow when open :)
