technically, they are not the same...just really that close. IIRC, 114.3mm is the same as 4.5in, and (also IIRC) the Dodge Neon used 5x4.5

No, the 5x115 and 5x114.3 are actually different patterns, but either one will fit the other. Seven tenths of a millimeter isn't much of a difference.
So to answer the original question, yes 5x114.3 will fit on the Alero. That's probably what most people have on their rims. I know that's what mine are.

The Aleros are 5 x 115, but the 5 x 114.3 should fit as long as the offset is the same... The offset for them is 35-42 with OEM sizes being 15" and 16"
Plus sizes can go all the way up to 19" with 225/35-19s to keep the within factory specs.

20's can fit if they are 8" or less with the appropriate offest also...but that is rare and expensive.

24"s will fit with a lift kit :p... To keep with stock specs for the speedo 19" are max

technically, you can go 22x8 without suspension mods or recalibrating the speedo, but good luck finding those rims...AND those tires...and the smooth roads to drive on without denting the rims with those rubberbands. lol
