Today I was trying to install my ground cable to the seat belt screws right behind the back seats when you fold them down. Now I have a 5/16" terminal on my ground cable which is 1/0 gauge Streetwires and the seat belt screws don't fit. Any suggestions and how did everyone else get through this problem? Also, does anyone know the max length the ground cable should be?

Well making the seatbelt bolt fit i cant help ya with cus i cant see( dont understand) what the problem is there... you may need to try annother kinda terminal.
with the amp wire length question... as short as it can be made, if its 4awg you dont have to bae quite as picky about the length , however if its small for the size of your amp you want it as short as possible.

But the general rule of thumb is no more than 3feet... the one in my car is about 2 i think...if that

The shorter the better

 I never post here since this is not my area, but I do know a bit about grounding

I don't think ground there will be a good idea. Might get a shock everytime you put on your seatbelt

Dont want to be an asshole man...
But statements like that are why this isnt your section....
the seatbelt bolts are fine, none of my rear passengers have complained of shock... besides there wouldnt be a circuit there... so shock would be impossible, if ya wanna learn more about car audio read this page, i did its great.

yeah man, you can grab the ground of your battery and nothin is gonna happen. Touching a seatbelt to your amp ground that is touching you through fabric straps will have even less happen.

What I'm talking about is when I bought the streetwires 1/0 gauge amp kit, it came with a 4 foot ground cable with a 5/16" terminal already crimped on where you connect it to the seat bolts. My problem is that the seat bolts are a lot bigger than 5/16" so I'm trying to find a way to make the terminal a little larger.
On the length-asked a guy at streetwires and he said the best is 2 foot so thanks for the info BLK.

Yea...if the end of the terminal is too small either go get a biger one... or cut the end of the terminal so that it is no longer a circle and spred it out and cram it under the bolt. end of story.

Or if there's enough material, you could just drill the hole out a little bigger, so that the bolt would fit....a different connector is the answer though. ( for that location ) You could always get some sandpaper, a cordless drill, a 1/4" bolt and some touch-up paint, and make your OWN location.....that's what I did....It not only ensures a good ground, but also opens up limitless cable-routing possibilities.
